We have been coming here for 20+ years and one of my favourite restaurants anywhere!! Standout food, well chosen wines with warm and well paced service. Exactly the restaurant I'd live to live close by to! Simply fabulous in every way!!
A lovely dinner at this so welcoming restaurant with friends at Christmas. So friendly and such a professional crew Lovely oysters, tarama, liver and bacon and pork dishes. The chips were divine. The fish pie was nice but lacked something and mushrooms don't belong in one But a great time was had and thank you for your welcome. Merry Christmas
Sensational Seafood. Visited at lunchtime and was really impressed from walking across the threshold. All members of staff are super attentive and friendly. The setting is informal where the food does the talking. I cannot stop thinking about the Red Snapper I had as a main course. Probably my favourite fish dish ever. Decent wine selection was the cherry on top. Make sure you visit this place if you are in Aldeburgh or nearby. It will not disappoint.
Lovely resturant with a great atmosphere and extensive wine menu. Service was also great. However we were a little disappointed by the meal - fish was clearly very fresh and cooked nicely but plate as a whole was lacking in flavour. The restaurant is obviously well loved so maybe we just caught the kitchen on an off day!

Very good restaurant in Alderburgh. They fitted me in, in a limited time slot but they were fully booked so I was grateful for that. Fish soup starter good and fish n chips also good. Best thing was wine list ..I had a beautiful Sardinian Vermentino which complimented both courses. Staff very warm and friendly as was the owner who takes a personal interest in all his guests. Highly recommended. Re star rating ...as I was only in the place for 75 minutes I'll wait for a second visit to add the extra star it probably deserves.
Sam, last nights meal was one of the best meals I have had out in ages. Fish pie was excellent and I have not had a sticky toffee pudding for many years as the gluten free ones are usually rubbish to be honest. Yours was seriously good though. You must NEVER take this off the menu. Love the fact you think of us Gluten / dairy free peeps with marking up the menus too. The Lighthouse is one of my favourite restaurants, food is always spot on and Sam, you and your team are such natural hosts and entertainers. Keep it up mate x
We visited this restaurant today for my sister's birthday; it was our first time, but it most definitely won't be our last! I want to shout from the rooftops how amazing this restaurant is! If you are lucky enough to have Laura as your server, you will enjoy every minute of your visit - she is fun and so welcoming; nothing is too much bother and believe me, as someone who needs gluten free food, I experienced truly exceptional help. As soon as Laura knew my dietary needs, she took her time over the 2.5 hours we were there, to make sure I was catered for and knew what I could and couldn't eat. The owner, went out of his way to come and say hello to us and have a chat and when they surprised my sister by singing 'Happy Birthday' we just couldn't have asked for a warmer and more welcoming environment. Add to that, the exceptional quality of the food yes, they altered a dish to gluten free for me, and the 'no rush' approach to the dining experience, I can honestly say this is the best dining experience I have had in many years...so much so, that this is my first, yes first, review of a restaurant! Bravo to the whole team. You are amazing and we will be back to visit with more family members. Thank you so much. Nicki
Great duck we had both confit and breast and oysters for an apetiser. The service was second to none. All reasonably priced. Will visit again for sure
We arrived slightly later than we had booked and we were greeted with a smile and a warm welcome… the restaurant was full on a Sunday night.. that gives you a good idea of it’s popularity. The food was amazing. The wine list was extensive and the service was superb. To complete our positive review, we thought the cost of the meal justified the incredible evening we enjoyed at The Lighthouse. It was a meal we won’t forget in a hurry. If you are thinking of booking a table.. just do it… you won’t be disappointed.
