Very cute restaurant in Dungeness. The train comes in from Dymchurch etc. You can sit outside and watch the train pull in. Also close to lighthouse and sea front!!
We visited in November 2022 for Festive Afternoon Tea which was very disappointing. The ingredients for the sandwiches were very poor quality and the cakes weren't very tasty to some even still had the wrappers on. It was very poor for the price. I have written to complain twice but received no response which was equally disappointing. We would recommend walking to one of the pubs for a much better meal.
Not the greatest of experiences. Place was clean but lack atmosphere and felt that the staff wanted to be somewhere else. Real shame.Food: 2/5
Lovely to have Dungeness station and cafe open fully again this year. Staff were lovely and the food was great, we particularly liked the specials and smoothies which they've introduced. And when it's hot there's air-conditioning inside and an outdoor seating area if you want the sun. Vegetarian options: Both the veggie breakfast and new veggie burger were nice. Parking: Plenty of free parking just outside
Ordered one tea and two sausage rolls to take away. Nearly fell over when she said £9. £3.50 each is a rip off for tubes of air with a slither of sausage in. Will stop at the chippie up the road next time.
Ordered tea, and and a coronation chicken sandwich, all very nice, staff helpful, and place spotlessly clean. All in all a very pleasant experience
Wonderful ride down to Dungeness to have the biggest fish and chips we have ever had. It was first class as was the service. Well done to all involved. Will be back again soon. GE
Daughter is gluten free, they seemed happy to accommodate this. However, when asking if I could swap items on breakfast, a simple “no, sorry we can’t do that” would have sufficed, but I got an answer that was a bit abrupt and as though I felt they thought I had a cheek asking. Anyway, on that note I went for fish and chips, which I must say was very nice.
Saw the negative reviews on this cafe but still thought we’d give it a go- safe to say that was an instant regret! When ordering, it was clear the staff were inexperienced and had low/no customer service skills. The chef was extremely rude and when asking if we could swap an item on the breakfast, they continuously shouted “no! order from the menu”. The cutlery was filthy and we had to scramble through a box of knives to find one that was remotely “clean”. The food was then stone cold and one of the meals we ordered also come out wrong. I have never written a review before, but felt it was necessary due to the complete lack of effort from the staff! The venue is beautiful and being able to watch the trains go past definitely gives the place potential, however the staff and quality of the food is what let’s it down.
We had a nice pasty and coffee and some cake afterwards and you get to see the small trains at the station
