Great place to stay within walking distance of the coast. The pub has a lovely cosy atmosphere with log fires but it’s a pity there isn’t more seating in the bar area where you can drink without having food. The food was very good and they had a nice selection of real ales. Our room was very nice but we were disappointed with the size and location for the price. All the staff were very helpful and friendly.
Lovely food, fantastic service, cosy atmosphere. Absolutely will return. The service was fantastic, and the food was great. In every sense, the staff at The Lifeboat Inn know what they're doing, and they're only too happy to give you a good experience and make you feel very welcome. The interior of the conservatory in particular is so nice and warming, and I look forward to coming back. Was very busy, so try to book ahead!
Beautiful old traditional pub with a great atmosphere. We stayed the night in our campervan but ate in the restaurant. Service was fantastic as we're the mussels! Also right next to the coastal walk so gorgeous scenery, beaches, countryside and wildlife on the doorstep. Will definitely be going back!Service: 5/5
Good service & good food but we left disappointed because of the room. We booked a 'better' room but it was far from better, it was just really tired as per photos, black mould around the bath/shower screen, toilet flush not working properly, broken light over the bed, shower was just a dribble bath was great stained carpet and the window sill was half-way through a repair. All in all we would not return at the cost, we were discounted when paying the bill but would much prefer the room as it was advertised on the website :
Food was excellent. Especially the prawn cocktail! The prawns are really fresh and tasty ..and a large portion. The outside eating area is great. Even in the winter. It has heaters.Service: 4/5
This such a nice place, plenty of atmosphere, excellent location. The food was really tasty and the staff were very helpful and friendly. It is a large old pub with plenty of character and l always enjoy coming here. Food & drinks: Not the cheapest place but very good quality and very tasty, so worth the money.
Reed cutters platter - it would certainly keep the hardest working reed cutter fuelled for the day. The platter was huge and it was full of flavour. Many slices of ham with half of a pork pie and good couple of wedges of tangy cheddar cheese. This, together with 4 door stops of bread 2 different varieties, dressed salad and sides of pickled onions, curried chutney and potted mackerel finished the dish off nicely. It certainly kept us going for our 2 hour walk back to Holme next the sea. Walkability: The north Norfolk coast path leads directly to this hidden gem of a pub Food & drinks: Plenty of good British cuisine to chose from as well as some more eastern delights. Noteworthy details: This Inn has plenty of history and artifacts to discuss over a lovely meal.
Dropped in for a meal without booking. Very busy at the time but the staff were really accomodating and were able to find a table for us. Food was excellent and recommend if hungry after a coastal walk the mussels and also the Reed Cutters plater. EnjoyService: 5/5
Visited today for the first time as we where in the area. Not impressed at all, the guy behind the bar was not welcoming and when asked if we could have a table for 4 people he said walk round and we can fit you in. We where then approached by a rather sharp tongued older lady who said in a snappy voice, have you booked. No we don't have a table , no, no . Very poor welcome, very poor reception and some staff need to learn what customer service is. Would definitely not recommend or come back.
We like it here. Cosy seating area. Able to eat in: Bar area Conservatory Restaurant...as well as outside in warmer weather. Good menu. Whilst prices everywhere have gone up...found it a little expensive on this occasion.
