Busy on a Sunday morning....pleasantly so. Staff ready and willing to help. Good selection of products and considerably cheaper than other supermarkets in the area. Sunday special offers are genuine and very interesting A disturbing tendency today Tuesday March 20th All tills closed and only self scan checkouts with one assistant hovering....this at lunchtime an obviously busy time. Three or four customers abandoned their caddies and left.Angry reactions from the 15-20 customers expected to scan their purchases.A deputy manager standing by...when I pointed out the chaos I was told that they were trying out a new system....I have since reported this to Lidl Customer Sevices and received an unconvincing flannel reply.

There are Lidls and there are Lidls. This one is bright, spacious and clean. It is a typical Lidl with everything you could want, and more, what with their weekly-changing special offers. If there is a downside (hence the loss of one star) it is that the checkout staff seem to be in competition with one another to see how fast they can scan your purchases. The result is that the items pile up faster than they can be packed.

Big store with a lot of good deals but I wouldn't do a full shop there, and the only great bit in the shop is the bakery.
