I have been shopping at the Lidl, Uttoxeter Road, Derby branch for over two years now, regularly visiting with my family. Unfortunately, today’s experience at the self-checkout left me feeling very hurt and singled out.nnMy children were helping me scan our shopping, as they usually do. They are responsible and often help by handing me items to scan and packing the bags once the payment is made and the receipt is printed. Sometimes, when they want a particular treat, they ask me to scan it, then they pay for it using their allowance, collect the receipt, and pack it away. Today, while I was still in the process of scanning, I moved a box of fish fingers slightly in the bagging area to make space for the eggs.nnAt that point, a male staff member approached me and loudly and rudely told me, “No packing away without paying.” I calmly explained that I was still in the middle of scanning all the items and would pay once I had finished. I had not left the checkout or attempted to avoid payment.nnWhat upset me most was noticing that other customers nearby also had checkout alerts, yet the same staff member approached them politely, even laughing and chatting while resolving their issues. The difference in tone and approach was very noticeable, and I felt isolated and unfairly treated.nnA similar incident occurred a few weeks ago, but I chose not to think much of it at the time. However, today’s interaction was too uncomfortable to ignore. As a regular customer of more than two years, I expect to be treated with basic courtesy and respect.nnI hope management addresses this, as no customer should feel embarrassed or singled out while simply doing their weekly shop.

Nice to pop in every Lidl anywhere may it be Germany, Austria, England or Latvia. Feels like home nTo be fair, I grow tomato plants from tomatoes I buy in Lidl. Just mean it's a good product there.nnThe picture is the view from this store
I love my local LIDL. It's clean, set out in an intelligent way, and staff are friendly. A shout out to all the staff there. Keep up the good work.
I shop here all the time. Has all the usual stuff you’d need. Sometimes there’s a security guard around. Plenty of parking and always has spaces.nnDon’t get fooled by the left turn arrow on the road shown in image, that’s where cars leave Lidl. I still think the left turn should be an entrance… There is an entrance/exit on the other side.nnThe pedestrian path by the front of Lidl isn’t designed well since people just cut across to walk to traffic lights. But apart from the slightly bad planning, can’t complain.
