Today was shopping here and one of the employees on the self serve area start swearing and say bad words and he ask the manager to come. The manager she come and ask what is happening i tell and not believe me,believe the man swear me without try to investigate to se what is happening there and ask me to show prove of recording i tell her to send a email but she not give me one . I left the till and he try to intimidate and told me if i m rude i m not allowed to do shopping here . No words about this unprofessional attitude from manager , employee to customer . With all the evidence i do a complain about this unhappy incident today .
I now know why my sister can't stand Lidl! The queues are dreadful, the staff don't seem to care. The self service only had three tills working ... this is about 6pm on a Monday evening. If this was my local I wouldn't shop their either!! I would pay more in Waitrose than revisit this branch.
I would give it a 0 but it won’t let me. The worst customer service experience I’ve ever come across as someone who was worked in retail for many years I was shopping with my co-worker and used the self service checkout, purchases had been verified twice by the customer assistant at the till and as we was leaving with our receipt for the purchases, a shop worker Jamie has run up to my co-worker at the doorway and accused her of shop lifting to which he now denies after witnessing it first hand I carried the purchases back inside and asked to speak to someone senior to rectify the situation. He informed me that he would call her Joanna over his headset and to wait at the till. The manager approached and asked what’s happening, I’ve explained how we have had to verify our purchase twice at the self service with her colleague and have now been stopped at the door. My colleague was upset that this was taking place so I asked her to step outside and collect herself and I would speak with the staff members, I sympathised with the manager in a calm tone and said I understand that you have systems and protocols in place but there’s a correct and polite way to approach the situation which doesn’t cause harm or hysteria to anyone involved.nnI asked for their names and store number so I could ensure this didn’t happen again, as someone who suffers from social anxiety this was a mortifying experience having queues of people staring at me from the overcrowded self service line, for something that should of been handled correctly in the first place without theatrics.nnI had been told by Jamie that he was on his lunch break when he stopped my colleague and I was completely bemused by this statement as I find it hard to believe you can be on your break and simultaneously be working but each to their own.nnI turned to the manager and reiterated that I think the situation should of been handled completely differently, I understand that the person has a job to do but common courtesy and a simple “sorry my name is… would you mind if I check your receipt as we have to check and authenticate purchases during our busy seasons”nnI don’t usually pull a Karen because people have their own stressful situations to deal with, however i have time today. I was told that “the headsets are all crackly and don’t really work” funny how you called the manager on it then nnPs. The store number they wrote and provided to me was for a completely different store in Hull and was told by customer service that there was no manager called Joanna at this store.nnThanks for coming to my Ted talk
Decent car park, staff and manager very helpful especially dealing with us oldies. It's bigger than it looks in terms of selection offered. Excellent bakery, especially seeded sourdough bread which doesn't feature in some other stores.
Pleasant staff, check outs tend to always be quick, so thankfully not left waiting for long. Bakery section is excellent including their chocolates.nHighly competitive pricing with added bonus on special deals.
