Selection was as good as usual.nUnfortunately the person who served us gave the obligatory greeting, but then gave no further communication, despite my attempts of a brief conversation. While queuing and waiting for the family in front of us to load the belt, this server was on their phone and leaning on the counter like they didn't want to be there. They didn't ask if we had Lidl Plus, didn't ask for my method of payment, and then didn't confirm the payment had been successful. Soured an otherwise fine experience.
I had a slightly frustrating experience at Lidl recently. As I was leaving — using the correct exit and doing everything exactly as customers are supposed to — the trolley wheels suddenly locked.nSince I couldn’t move it any further, I left the trolley where it stopped and carried my shopping out.nA male staff member then came out to speak to me. The tone wasn’t very friendly or understanding. Given that the wheel‑lock system activated through no fault of mine, a more customer‑friendly approach would have made the situation feel much smoother.nWhat I found peculiar was he just walked away at the end of the confrontation without a word. No apology, nothing.nnOther than that, the shop itself is well stocked with items.nBut I'd probably avoid shopping here again in case I have to have another interaction with the individual.
All staff are really helpful, Daniel on tills is a wizz . The store is clean and no issues except the stop of stocking birchwood Cumberland sausages family pack. The deluxe is not the same
Would give 5 stars but unfortunately today the young girl on the till at checkout was unpleasant and not for the first time. Other members of staff are great , stock and choice great. Just one person let it down.nWill be happy to shop here again but will avoid that particular till.
They sell a decent range of food items, however staff always seem so unhappy/miserable there. There is little interaction with customers and they are definitely not child friendly as they do not interact with toddlers or small children at all - which is a complete contrast to the Tesco down the road where they go above and beyond to make the experience enjoyable for everyone, including little ones. It just seems like a very unhappy store and I have been going there with my 2 year old son, on and off, since before he was born. We deliberately drive to the Tesco further down the road as the whole customer experience, especially shopping with a toddler, is so much better.
