Went here to try something different from our usual shop. A week later we get hit with a £90 parking fine for being in the parking for only 43 minutes. There are plenty of other shops close by in the area that don't do this. won't be using this Lidl again
while waiting in line at the checkout, the cashier had time to show photos on her phone and talk to her friend without looking at the queue another 5 people when I asked her to start working she told me to go to the self-service checkout with my purchases when I pointed out that I would like to be served here since I'm waiting in line she started screaming and the manager came angrily pushing me away, took my purchases and went to scan to the self-service counter, but the knives pay attention to the fact that other customers were still waiting at the checkout with their purchases...Lidl in the city center, the manager and the cashier to be laid off and I will definitely never shop there again, I will change to Lidl in Wombwell
Myself & my wife called to Lidle Barnsley on 12/07/24 as our daughter has recently moved to the area, we have just received a parking fine from the car park Parkingeye for £90 & we we're there for 42 minutes, I know usually parking is upto 90 minutes? It transpires in the letter that once you have done your shop customers are to put their details & registration into a machine inside the store? Well who in there wright minds are looking for signs in the store for the car park when the customers are looking for what they are purchasing!! This is ABSOLUTELY REDICULOUS and this will inevitably lose Lidle customers, we will not be shopping again as many others too, it's a stupid idea, my wife as I'm righting this review can't even send an email to Parking eye to dispute this as it will not send??nUPDATE:- How often has a customer done this, I know I have gone into a shop just for one specific thing but they either don't do it or none left & you don't actually purchase anything? So if you don't have a receipt how do you scan it it??????nANOTHER UPDATE:-nIm in Lidle next door to home bargains Barnsley next to the tills & not all customers were informed of this parking detail, six customers went through the tills & straight outside no doubt they will end up with a fine 9:05 am 21/07/24 Ive spoken to the manager of Lidle called Matt, his reply was that we have to appeal to Parking eye as theirs nothing he can do, yet I spoke to male shopper who puts his car details in & goes somewhere else in town for an hour then comes back & goes into homebase & does the same again The manager actually comfimed that they are aware of these things happening?? We were genuine shoppers that called to purchase goods but also genuinely didn't see these screens for car details for parking, as I'd mentioned earlier in this review that a new customer one off customer as we don't live in that area we just happen to call in we were not aware nor were we looking round for these screens we were busy looking on the shelves. Yet other reviews on here customers have been in touch with Lide & had their parking fine revoked, surely this comes under the realms of discrimination??????nNEW UPDATE:-nIn future if anyone shops at Lidle/ Home Bargains & you don't put in your details in the screen inside either or both stores & you receive a fine of £90/ £45 if paid before 28 days from Parking eye who manage the car park DO NOT PAY IT!!!! The car park is actually owned by Lidle & Parking eye have NO legal power to make you pay the fine as it is not a criminal offence because you didn't put your details in the screen inside the stores. Putting your details in this screen is to prevent people who do not shop at these stores using the car park & going elsewhere, if you are genuinely shopping there & you can prove you have shopped there then there is no case for them, they would have to prove that you parked there, didn't shop there & went elsewhere?!!! Both stores should tell there staff to remind customers of putting details in the screen as they go through the tills to prevent genuine shoppers so they don't receive a fine from Parking eye. I know that some people put their car details in the screen in store then go into town centre then do the same in other store park for 1hour free then go into town centre & the manager of Lidle even admitted this himself, but expect genuine shoppers to pay a FINE HOW DOES THAT WORK?????nSO DO NOT PAY.!!nUPDATE 24/07/2024 time 17:31nOut of all the negative reviews on here Lidle Owner has replied with an apology,nCan Lidle not see my review????nLIDLE MOT BOTHERED??nAND Why is it that both stores have slightly different rules regarding this car detail issue.nI Lidle I was told by the manager that once items are purchased you scan your receipt then enter details,nI Home Bargains I was told by manager you put in your car details but you don't have to purchase anything?nThe rules should be the same in both stores.??
It’s massive place a lot of customer every day but unfortunately they don’t care about the customer serving today, I was there 10 people stay the queue only one staff do check out!!!!nUnfortunately one thing make people disappointed stay queue I hate it
Absolutely disgusting customer service at this Lidl, entitled employees who think they can can talk to their customers however they feel like. Never have I seen such disgusting service and treatment towards customers. What an embarrassment to Lidl
