I have used library twice since I moved here. First experience with wifi was good, but as the upper floor area is shared between children and adults, it becomes too noisy. For complete privacy if you move to space with computers then you will be asked to move if you are not using it. Wifi on first time worked fine, but second time it did not connect to my laptop at all. Its a huge space, just avoid sitting upper left side if you want to concentrate n focus. Registration is pretty simple
Nice to study. Very clean and quiet to study at full concentration
Way too much noise!!! And too hot in the summer.. No point in reporting noise, staff take no notice. Maybe they can't hear me. Worst library in London by a long country mile!!! Hand drier in toilets not working for at least four weeks. Can't dry hands after using toilet. I have e mailed council about it. Bet they do nothing also. Avoid this library at all costs!!! There is more. I visited this library a few months after my review and was told I could not wear my own mask in the library. I had to wear a mask provided by the library. The assistant produced a mask from the drawer using her bare hands. God knows where the mask had been or her hands for all I know somebody may have worn that mask before me. Absolutely disgusting!! The local Health Authorities should visit this disgusting library.
I really love that there are so many different rooms where you can focus. The building itself is imposing and old but well taken care of, huge windows a little everywhere. Reminds me of a typical English library except there is no old lady staring from the desk. hehe Staff always seems active and busy, sometimes they aren´t able to take care of everyone that pops by. If you´re looking for good library I would definitely recommend this.
Horribly loud most days. I have been to this library to make use of the extremely limited study space. However, it is not uncommon for parents to bring their children in for a shouting match and a good run around. I even witnessed a mother put on a Disney film at full volume on the iPad for her child. Absolutely bizarre behaviour. I trust her child will develop excellent reading skills. As mentioned by other reviewers, the staff are timid and have no intention of asking these people to be quiet. Lovely building let down by awful behaviour.
I love this library : the building is amazing, the staff is always helpful and welcoming, it's really easy to use and it has great services. I go there every week and am really grateful we have such a great local library. Thank you
While the library is aesthetically pleasing to the eye, to the ear it is a different story. Children and parents have no consideration for others in the library. Reporting noise to members of staff does nothing to solve this issue. If you're looking for somewhere quiet to work, you're better off going to the local Costa.
Modern interior design and great layout. Could do with a larger selection of books.
Clean and quiet but why are the toilets closed and had to ask for the key for someone to accompanied you to open the door, what if you want to do an emergency...plus they suit them selves when they want to open the door by then you would have an accident!!!
You can print from your phone. Prices very reasonable. Staff friendly and helpful. Good for students and freelance workers.
