Brilliant swimming pool, nice staff. But appalling changing facilities. Needs updating!nNo disabled changing facilities. One suppose “disabled” shower room right next to the other showers, open for everyone to use so that’s what was happening, and had to queue for some time to use it while my son was very distraught because it was so busy. and then learnt that the shower head was broken so had to hold it as I showered my son.nVery busy, loud and overwhelming changing rooms. Not enough showers, 1 was out of order.nIt’s a shame as my son who has autism really enjoyed the swimming experience and the big slide which was operated very well but had such a traumatic time in the changing rooms we won’t be returning..nvery disappointed!
Absolutely appalling. My husband and I took our 14 month old for a session on Monday afternoon and one of the staff kept yelling, roughly every 10mins to remind us our session was soon over, for the whole hour. She startled the baby multiple times, we felt so unwelcome and to add to that my husband caught her on her phone numerous times not watching the pool! When we asked a lifeguard, we were told her name was Kayla, management definitely needs to take a closer look at this. We thought we found the perfect centre for our baby.
Good swimming pool and sauna. Clean place and clean toilets. Showers are a bit cold though!nnDisabled friendly for my mother.nSwimming guard James very friendly and helpful. He used a hoist to lower my mobility impaired mother into the swimming pool.nnSauna is clean and hot. But not allowed to use own oils as an aerosol incase someone has an allergy.nnDownside is place gets very busy. So if you are flexible with booking timetable then should be okay.nnReception very friendly and helpful. And most of the bookings done via the better health app.nnGood place.
Great for kids. I did however want to use the facility for swim for fitness during the day but only one lane available. Bit rubbish as I am a slow swimmer and I just felt as though I was in the way of the faster people. I find that there are a lot of swim school sessions which means not much space for the swim fit. As long as it stays open i suppose. The showers are a bit cold but heat up after the initial shock. Staff are lovely
The leisure centre in Leyton High Road is frankly disappointing. Badly managed. They overbook the pool, making ir difficult to use when it’s crowded. The same with sauna and steamer. One of the showers has been broken for at least six months, and nobody has done anything about it. Sometimes there is no hot water. A couple of the locks in the dressing cubicles are broken, nothing has been done. The staff do their best to keep it going, they are very kind, but the centre obviously lacks proper management.
