Last March, during a visit to the Oban area in Scotland — on a Thursday evening, one of my large fillings fell-out; it had the potential to destroy my visit. The following day, I made innumerable calls attempting to obtain an emergency appointment with various dentists in the area and further afield.nnI emphasised that was willing to pay privately; however, I kept meeting a brick wall because I was “not registered” and/or there was no dentist available. At one stage, I was contemplating the reality of having to drive back down to West Sussex to see my own dentist, because there is nothing like toothache to make you desperate.nnIn my desperation, I started looking for dentists closer to Glasgow on Google, which led me to the Levengrove Dental Practice. On the Monday morning, I told my tale of woe to the receptionist, Linsey. In a kindly manner, she explained that a Monday was never a good day for an emergency appointment but offered to assist in whatever way she could subject to pre-existing appointments.nnLinsey indicated that: a if a cancellation became available she would immediately let me know; and, b she was confident she would be able to offer an emergency appointment the following day. About ninety minutes later, Linsey called me offering me an emergency appointment at 5 pm that evening.nnThus, I drove from near Oban to Dumbarton for the appointment. Upon my arrival at the practice, Linsey was warm and welcoming, which was greatly appreciated after the long journey.nnI was seen by the principal dentist, Mr. Ghyll McCallum, who was good-humoured and most importantly, professional. Having examined the problematic area in my mouth, he apprised that I had lost a large filling; however, contiguous to problematic tooth another tooth was cracked; that, too, required attention. The procedure to repair both teeth took approximately fifteen 15 minutes.nnI was, of course, very grateful for the attentive care from Linsey. It makes the kindness of strangers a tangible reality; I, too, impressed by the clinical professionalism and the integrity of Mr. Ghyll McCallum, which is why I am writing this unsolicited review.nnWholeheartedly and without reservation, I recommend the Levengrove Dental to anybody who may require a dentist in the area.
Always very pleasant staff when my family and I visit. Very helpful and professional.
Today I visited Levengrove. I rarely post reviews however, Charlotte is an exceptional hygienist. She is thorough, professional and obviously takes pride in her work. OMG I wish all hygienists were this good.

Sent on behalf of my Husband Ambi.n'Well, to begin with, I had a bottle of Malbec on Friday knowing I was off until Tuesday. We decided to have chilli, salad and garlic bread for dinner which was lovely!nAfter my Malbec Argentinian and dinner, I went to sleep. Crunched down on my already loose upper tooth ouch! Stupidly decided with the help of my wife to extract the said tooth which, as you can imagine, did not bode well with my wives extraction abilities. Pliers do not work!nSo, having suffered excruciating pain, as I'm sure others reading this will understand. I thankfully managed to get an appointment this morning.nAt 11.06 Mr Ghyll McCallum asked me to go through to extract the said tooth. Now, it has to be said; a lot of people are apprehensive when attending the dentist, and I am one of them. I am an avid listener of Radio 2. I commented on Vernon Kay now being on Radio 2 and what a sad loss Ken Bruce certainly is to the station.nAnyway, back to my review! After providing me with an injection of pain relief, Mr McCallum extracted the said painful tooth with ease and sent me on my merry way!nThis is our family dentist, and I would highly recommend them.nAn absolutely professional practice, and Mr McCallum an absolute gentleman.nThank you for allowing me to enjoy a bottle of Malbec Argentinian again! Which indeed I'm having just now. Probably not advised to do so...medicinal!! Perhaps
