Beautiful hotel from the outside. Inside could do with some updating.nnWe were on the 4th floor and the corridor smelt like gravy as soon as we checked in, in the afternoon, in the evening and the following morning. It wasn’t for me.nnThe bathroom in the hotel room needed some attention, it looked tired.nnBed was comfortable. Curtains in the room were good at keeping the light out, but i did notice some small holes in the top of the curtains.nnFridge in room was beneficial along with the iron and hairdryer if you need one.nnI thought for the size of the hotel the reception area is very small and too could do with some updating.nnHotel bar was good, with good service.nnGreat location!!!nnWe stayed here 7 years ago and I think since the place could do with some tlc, nothing major, just some minor updates / freshen up.
Wonderful staff who are always attentive and helpful. The room was perfect, very clean and tidy and I like their environmental ethos regarding towels spares in the wardrobe. I slept very well, the bed was so comfy and I could choose the room temperature.nnThere was a large choice of hot and cold options for breakfast. I’m a vegetarian and can recommend the scrambled egg and vegetarian sausages. The staff were excellent and made sure I had everything I needed.nnI would highly recommend staying here, so much better than a generic hotel.
The location of the hotel is very central and close to lots of bars, restaurants and shops. It’s also only 10 minutes walk from the station. The reception staff were welcoming and helpful. The room was well laid out and very clean, as was the bathroom which had lovely fluffy white towels. The bed was comfortable but the room temperature was hot during the night. My only negative comment about the room was that it faced Leopold Square which was very noisy on Saturday night. To be fair to the hotel they had pre warned us before we arrived and we should then have requested a quiet room.nAltogether the hotel provided what we were looking for in an overnight city stay and we would stay there again.
Nice hotel with a mixed old to modern vibe. Room was clean and cosy, bathroom was clean and tidy but personally I felt it needed a bit of repare/tlc in places. This would not stop me from staying again. Lots of bars and restaurants close to the hotel which we would like to try in the future. Would recommend as a place to stay.
This is a really lovely hotel, with a perfect location for everything central to the city. Not even a 10-minute walk from the train station, and loads of great bars and restaurants are within minutes' walk. The room was a good size with complimentary tea and coffee. It was really easy to get fresh milk too, as I don't like UHT milk. The bed was really comfy; my only negative with the bed is the pillows were very lumpy and not comfortable for me. But this is probably a personal preference. My room faced Leopold Square, which made it very noisy in the evenings, especially over the bank holiday weekend. On Sunday early evening and well into late evening there was a salsa show on, which was extremely loud, and I was unable to get any sleep. I mentioned this to the receptionist on checkout, and she said the event happens every year. I feel I should have been told on check-in and asked if the given room would be OK or if I would like an alternative. All staff were friendly and accommodating. Overall it was a very pleasant stay; it was just frustrating to not get a lot of sleep over the 4 nights staying there.
