I have been sending my son to LIA from the age of 8 months and although I worried that I was sending him too early, I now realise it was one of the best decisions I could have made. His development over the past 8 months has surprised both myself and my husband, and I have no doubt the LIA has had a substantial part to play in both his ability to understand what we say as well as his ability to communicate what he wants to do. I’ve attended stay and play sessions at the school and have seen for myself just how happy my son is in the nursery environment and how at ease he is with all staff members. As for the staff, I have a great appreciation for their commitment to providing the best service of care to not only my child but all children who attend the nursery and school, for making each day fun as well as educational and for looking after the children as if they were part of their own family. I admire the Islamic values the school instills in the children from a young age, and look forward to seeing how much more my son develops in the long term.
I have two children studying at LIA class 6 and foundation 1 ; I am very happy with their growth within the school ,the teachers are very friendly and willing to help and whenever we had special requests or problems , they were very transparent and searched for solutions; I must mention that we came from Bangladesh last year;my elder son studied under a totally different style and curriculum and he was supposed to be class 3 abroad; he was behind the class at the beginning of year 5 and gradually became one of the best; his teacher ,Mrs Abraham, is truly one of the best teachers my son has ever had and she helped my son understand concepts that he has missed during this change in learning systems; even if the ofsted report wasn't favourable, my children are doing well,I do hope the school will be able to fulfill ofsted criteria soon
My 2 kids have been at Leicester Islamic Academy for a number of years and I am very pleased with the school. The teachers are passionate and caring and really committed to do the best for the children. The recent OFSTED report was very disappointing, but it highlighted some of the areas of the school building which have been a little unloved, and the school have either addressed or are in the process of addressing these.
My two kids year 2 & Reception has started this school. I had few concerns in my mind related to last Ofsted report 2015 but school has undergone some good improvement ever since then. Some internal references have told me that a new principle & head teacher are already bringing this school to next level proved by latest ofsted inspection report issued about this school. They didn't increased overall rating but said school has improved in its facilities & teacher's training.
From the recent Ofsted report 2015 - it is so clear this school has gone totally downhill. Inadequate is an understatement. It's been happening for years and the governors, management, headteacher and teachers - have let the pupils down once again. You'd have thought after a few decades of running a school, LIA would have their interest for the local muslim children. Nope. Not only is the curriculum and teaching a failure - the Islamic ethos and teaching has been also undermined. In the post-ofsted meeting chaired by the Head Governor - he openly called Ofsted a 'regime' and cut parents call for change with his strapline 'The buck stops with me'. Heaven knows why parents send their children to these schools who make a mockery of Muslim schools. Seriously if your looking at LIA, especially for the next few years - move on - there are many better schools in Leicester. Yes, with better facilities, trained empathic teachers, strong leadership and governors who know how to build a school. If your sceptical, read the blinding Ofsted report 2015. This isn't a personal grudge, its an open fact of failure from every known angle.
A fantastic school! I wouldn’t send my children anywhere else.
