I'm surprised by the other reviews as I have just bought a bed with Leftons and they were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable in store and advised perfectly on how long delivery would take. The bed arrived in perfect condition and was fully set up by the delivery men who were also polite and helpful. I'd definitely recommend to anyone
We wish to leave a fair yet honest review of our experience of the Lefton's furniture store in Blackpool. We waited eight weeks for our sofa to be made and when it was delivered it had to be returned due to poor manufacturer workmanship. Due to the extent of the poor upholstery and finish a replacement of the sofa was recommended. We then waited another eight weeks for a replacement to be made and again when it was delivered it had to be returned for poor workmanship. We received a visit from the manufacturer's upholsterer who was unfortunately unable to rectify the problems without the sofa again being being re-made. It was at this point we were made to feel as though the problem was some how our fault, even though when the second sofa was delivered it was clear to the delivery driver's there was a problem with the sofa. We had been informed by the store that the sofa had been quality checked when it left the store however it clearly had not. Even at this point we never received an apology from the store to any of the problems we had experienced. It would be fair to say that on each time we visited or telephoned the store that there were some very helpful courteous staff, and on one occasion Mr Lefton himself. Bob from sales who spoke to us on many occasion and was professional and courteous at all times. After making further call's to the store with no communication back...we reiterated to the store at this point that we were disappointed with both the quality of the products supplied and the poor communication from the store. We stated that we may raise a dispute with our credit card company. The very next day we received a phone-call from the store owner Mr Lefton who was very angry and hostile stating he wanted to collect the sofa and did not want our custom any more. After attempting to calm him down on the phone we agreed that we would purchase a display sofa in the store as a replacement for the difficulties. When I attended the store that day to resolve the matter, Mr Lefton found it difficult to give eye contact, he remained evasive often hiding in his office, and un -apologetic for his unacceptable behaviour on the telephone when I brought this to his attention. Mr Lefton remained guarded, at time's argumentative and showed no re- course for his unacceptable behaviour. Mr Lefton despite his word's to sympathise with me on how let down he felt by his manufacturer clearly needs to seek anger management for the difficulties he has talking and relating to his customer's, especially when there is a problem. He has no skill's in customer resolve or customer care. After speaking to many of the friendly staff he employs it was clear to me that they were also aware of Mr Lefton's 'short fuse'. To sum Mr Lefton up....we named him 'Mr Fawlty of the Furniture World'.....as we felt he really did not care or respect his customer's at all. If we had not liked the display furniture we finally made a resolve on we would of raised a dispute with our credit card company and took our custom elsewhere.We waited a further two week's for the furniture to be delivered and even though we had paid more money for the furniture it was not removed from sale despite our many visits to the store asking for it to be stored away and the price removed. When our furniture was finally delivered for the third time we felt the delivery men deserved a well earned tip as they were also professional and corurteous.Mr Lefton however is a man to be avoided, especially if you have a problem. He is the most arrogant, angry man we have have had the misfortune to meet. We would not recommend his store for quality product or his style of management customer service. It is a shame that Mr Lefton is not as friendly and customer focused as some of his staff....he could learn a lot from his salesman Bob....in how to talk to customer's in a professional and courteous manner....you indeed would make a better store manager...
After my disastrous experience, I recommend that this company should be avoided at all costs. Last November I ordered a bedroom suite from their store, I spent thousands and left over half the amount as a deposit. I was promised a delivery date which came and went. Naturally, they blamed the factory in Germany. Two and a half months later when the bedroom furniture eventually arrived, the wardrobe was defective, it had a faulty side panel which was damp, mouldy and crumbling. The delivery men insisted on full payment in cash, which of course I refused but decided to compromise and paid half the balance. They installed the rest of the bedroom suite and took the wardrobe away with them. The replacement came after another two months, it had parts missing, three hinges, two handles a rear panel clip. It also had a bent metal clothes hanging rail. The delivery men insisted once again on full payment in cash, yet I refused once more saying that I would only pay the balance when I was happy and satisfied with my goods. They rang the shop and handed me the phone to talk to their manager. He wanted payment in full also, telling me that their men weren't allowed to leave without the balance. We reached another compromise and I paid a little more, in cash, and was told I would get my replacement parts very soon. I waited a while and heard nothing, so I telephoned the warehouse and they didn't even know who I was. I had to explain the whole situation to them and was promised a speedy response to my predicament. I waited once more and heard nothing. Six months had passed now since I ordered my new bedroom suite and I had become very frustrated. I telephoned once more and was informed that all my replacement parts had arrived and were in the warehouse a few days previously. I wondered why they hadn't rang me but decided not to become angry and tried to arrange a time to meet the delivery men once more. However, I wasn't prepared to take any more time off work so tried to get the parts delivered either after 5.30pm or on a Saturday, whilst I was at home. Leftons told me that they finished at 5.00pm and didn't do Saturdays. They were adamant and had no intention of being flexible. That's when I almost lost my temper, but remained reasonably calm and told them to forget it. I said I'd source my own handles and hinges etc.. and put the phone down. The balance of £100 remains unpaid, I have no intention of paying it and they've never asked. I did a little research regarding this bedroom furniture and realised what a foolishly rash person I'd been at the outset. Instead of believing the claims made by Leftons about their competitive prices and first class friendly service I now realise what a complete sucker I'd been. All my bedroom furniture including the wardrobe, drawers, cupboards, bedside cabinets, bed and the mattress were available nationwide at various stores between 25% and 30% cheaper. Little wonder they don't care about the balance. Thankfully, I heard nothing more from them until today when I got an e-mail. Apparently according to the blurb, I'm a valued customer and have been invited to their store as a special guest to view some flood damaged stock. It's a personal and exclusive pre-sale invitation, guaranteeing me the first pick before they open the doors to the general public! Unbelievable! Not only did I get an e-mail, I also got a letter posted to my house with similar content. It ends with these words... We look forward to welcoming you back to our store! Never has my flabber been so ghasted! Maybe one day, Leftons right hand will know what their left hand is doing. They sold me a swivel chair which after 3 days broke and tilted to the side. On ringing the store R Lefton the issue due to us using it as a trampoline. Eventually he agreed to ship it back to Spain to be fixed and offered a loan chair. They removed the chair, the loan chair looked like something they had found on a skip and we have not heard from leftons since. That was 5 months ago and we are £800 down with nothing to show for it. Having spoken with Lefton once it is something you wouldn't want to repeat. Customer service is appalling . AVOID Money has been returned by Leftons now.
First Class service from initial enquiry to delivering and installing goods. my recent dealings with Leftons has been a pleasure. they made certain what i had chosen would fit into my home and Paul did a home visit to measure before ordering. the delivery times were adhered to and the delivery guys and bedroom fitters were pleasant and professional. i dont do reviews, but this deserves one. first class. your David Smith.
Brilliant service from Wayne & great furniture at very reasonable price. The gentlemen who delivered & installed the furniture deserve a special mention. Arrived when they said they would & so polite and efficient.
Awful company and awful after sales. They take your money and run. We bought a three piece suite which we both thought was made very cheap and not a representation of the one in the store. Eventually the arrogant owner come and had a look himself and realised we were correct. Waited and waited for answers, so we thought sod it..... we will go and buy another. To be honest we should have gone to the small claims court and took this dreadful company to task. Use at your own peril.
Bought a bed from Lefton's. Lovely service whilst in store, and bed was delivered in time-frame advised. We have used Lefton's on more than one occasion, and will do so again.
I ordered a bed for my daughter for Christmas. Unfortunately due to the delivery van breaking down it didn't come in time however it was delivered shortly after New Year. We are really pleased with the bed.
Sales staff excellent ,very helpful young man.After sales!wasdiabolical very complacent delivery enquiries over two weeks even though item was in showroom.Very aggressive when told that old item has been left in drive and told they were doing a favour to come back for it.After spending over £5'000 in two years expect better customer service.
