Pleasure doing business with The Leatherhead Golf Club. Container Disposal completed an onsite move of the 20ft ISO Shipping Container to assist with the clubs onsite operations.
As my wife and I are past members of Leatherhead golf club, and were literally passing the entrance, and knowing from past experience the high quality of food and surroundings, we decided to have lunch there. As my wife is registered disabled we looked for, and could not find a dedicated disabled bay. However after parking, we did discover a disabled sign attached to a wooden post that was half falling over. There were no lines painted on the road surface to denote a parking bay, as required, the slope to the main door was far too severe for my wife to enter the club by, and the rear doors to the lounge had high steps which made entry difficult. In the past the club boasted a relaxing and comfortable furnished lounge. However what we found was disappointing as the club’s furnishings are now far too formal and reminded me of a conference centre. However we ordered food. Mine consisted of chicken in a wrap, which was overcooked. My wife’s was an even greater surprise, as what turned up was not what she had ordered. This was in spite of waiting 40 minutes in a lounge where there was only one other table, which had already been served, and 2 tables on the terrace that ordered food after us. In addition the cutlery was dirty and I didn’t want to use it. On the plus side the bar staff were extremely courteous, and despite having served my wife the incorrect meal, she eventually got what she had ordered. My wife would have liked to use the facilities but we could not find any disabled toilets. Perhaps we have a romanticised memory of the club, but in reality what we saw and experienced was nowhere near the quality that we remember.
Played on a beautiful Tuesday morning in June. Course was in immaculate condition. Greens were slightly Sandy but still great. Couldn’t fault the place. Beautiful course in a beautiful setting. Will play again soon.
Fantastic golf club, course, food and staff. Really enjoyed the layout and greens were running beautifully, compliments to the Green Staff.
A beautiful course that's set around a bunch of nice mansions. The course is well kept and each of the holes are interesting. Be aware that you will drive over roads with cars going across, I think for at least two holes. I heard it's not so great in the winter or when it's been raining quite a bit.
Went here Thursday 24th, great challenging golf course, guy at the pro shop was more than welcoming did everything to ensure I had a good round, warned me about holes that had work being done on them and how to play some of the trickier holes, other courses in the area I had been treated like a second class citizen when I went to see what it was like, the course itself is awesome, not easy but great day out, for people the are more fussy the course is under considerable renovation, however I did not find this to dampen my experience, I reckon within 12 months this will be one of the best courses in the south of England without doubt, had a great day, loved every minute, welcoming community and staff, this is what golf is about… side note driving the green on the 17th was an incredible feeling, thanks to all, will be back soon
A nice course with some good improvements done over the past couple of years, I like the driving range and chipping green with plenty space to work on your shots. Only problem I tend to find is the slow play and bad etiquette by member groups. Perhaps we were just unlucky but it did become frustrating this time around when a four ball of members didn’t let us through stating a two ball in front then a larger group in front of them so pointless us going through? but we could never see anyone in front after the turn and then the group told us they were finishing on the 16th after seemingly deliberately holding us two ball for 7 holes, seemed pointless but I guess some people just don’t get it, must have been off putting for them as well as we turned up on each tee! Needs a regular steward out to patrol slow play. That said, it has some interesting holes and greens always play true.
Nice to find such friendly staff, especially the lovely lady serving tea in her little cabin at the 9th hole, so jolly and happy.
Nice club house etc. Good practice areas with a short range. The course is interesting -ish. But the condition is awful. The greens in particular are a joke. A putt of say 40 feet will need a 5 iron!! The green grass is longer that some decent course approach areas. Seriously I've never seen grass this long on a green before. And the bunkers...being polite inconsistent...with some containing more stones that sand. Won't go back. It's a shame could be a good little course. Ruined but lack of investment in the course green keeping.
Really nice course and very challenging. Nice clubhouse and facilities. Halfway house with hot and cold food ordered by walkie-talkie. Fairways and bunkers just need a bit of attention. Would definitely play again. Good value for money.
