Pump Rooms Leamington Spa As I approached the ancient town of Leamington Spa I felt an evocative sense of history and culture. Walking around in the footsteps of Long forgotten Georgian and Victorian visitors who were drawn to this magical place; a place chosen and privileged by nature to have many ‘magical’ water springs bubble up from deep within the earth’s crust. In my search as a ghost & phantom hunter I was drawn to Royal Pump rooms on The Parade opposite Jephson Gardens. Upon my entry I partook of a fine cup of Earl Grey in the café there before exploring the depths of this fabulous old edifice. T’was not long, before I was mysteriously transported back in time and materialised, into some sort of Turkish bath house with an octagonal domed room with stained glass windows with Islamic arches. I felt the presence of many a Phantom here so quickly prepared my kinematic ghost phototography machine thing. To my amazement I captured a hazy photo of a phantom pair. This ghoulish apparition screamed at me and disappeared. Upon leaving I asked the wonderful and friendly staff of the museum if there is still a place I could partake an enema of these glorious waters. The custodians of this wonderful building gazed at me strangely and explained many people famous or not so have visited for hundreds of years from Charles Dickens to The duke of Wellington they all came for two reasons; to drink or bath in the waters just like in any other Spa town. I enquired if Lady Gaga had been? They said no. My work here is done.
