An Absolutely Fantastic Evening in the Restaurant whilst staying at Carey Manor Hotels. The Onion Soup and Mushroom starters were delicious! Also not forgetting the very tasty Chicken main course! The Staff here are also brilliant and one of the guys serving is very funny and kept making us laugh! 5 Star Plus Rating!
Charming restaurant with loads of character inside and out. You are temporarily transported to Paris inside and a stunning French garden outside. The food was beautiful and tasty - we had the salmon, caprese starter with locally grown tomatoes, and a veggie burger. Even the children’s chicken was fab. Definitely worth a stop. Kid-friendliness: Children’s menu and high chairs despite it being a nice restaurant
Lovely atmosphere and luckily the weather was so nice - came here after a long hiking trip and the duck was fabulous. Local cider from Normandy is highly recommended loved the icecream. I think it could be cheaper maybe.Food: 4/5
I loved the restaurant and the vibes the moment I walked in… Sorry literally did a photo video dump of what I had and experience whilst at the Spa retreat as a small bday treat to myself. Such a beautiful restaurant and lovely staff. If you come in via the hotel entrance it was the most wonderful immersion before the wonderfully delicious food! The Emmental Choix Buns were recommended when I gave them the few amuse bouche that I wanted to try. They were delicious! If you like and can eat cheese. I then went for the lobster soup which was very flavoursome. Wasn’t sure what I was meant to do with the mayo but as you can see from the photos… I did my usual thing of experimenting… I trusted the mix of flavours presented to me and put them together. I’m a believer that when there’s all sorts on a plate, you should try eating all flavours together to taste or for that course. I was pretty much set on main until I got to the restaurant but I decided to go for Marle? their fish option which was perfectly cooked. To finish, I had a yummy liquid dessert which was similar to a Sauternes but even better as it was slightly less sweet. If you stay at Carey’s I highly recommend visiting this restaurant, their spa and other restaurants. The staff throughout the hotel were also lovely and friendly from reception to the lovely staff who prepped our room and the bar staff even when tenet were busy.
Greeted by the patron.. with a lovely welcome and seated in the window which was perfect. Starter and main course couldn't be faulted. And that's where it ended. Plates were taken away and no one else came to ask if we wanted dessert yet the couple behind us, who appeared to be regulars, were offered desserts. We had been waiting for a good 15 minutes so we got up went to the bar and paid. No thank you for coming.. Hope you enjoyed your meal.. nothing. . Shame. Food was perfect. Service... overlooked and poor. Great shame as we would have each had a dessert..coffee and perhaps a digestive.
Had dinner here for my partner's birthday and it was fantastic. Great food and professional and friendly service. Thank you for a lovely evening!Food: 5/5
French place with nice ambience, service and food of course. We got the fish. We liked our meals. Desert was an apple tart something like soft flap jack with apple and rubarb.Food: 5/5
We had a lovely dinner for two despite having to make a last minute booking. The staff were wonderful and welcoming. I had a goats cheese starter which was really superb and my husband had swordfish steak which he's never eaten before and it was out of this world.
Fabulous food, wonderful setting outside on a sunny day, and very good value for the standard of cuisine and quality of ingredients. We shall return. Can’t recommend highly enough.Food: 5/5
I would like to give Zero score to this restaurant. This restaurant established 1989. It was like gone back in time, the setting of this restaurant was like still back in 1989. This place seriously need renovation and redecoration with brand new furnitures, everything were outdated. including toliets, need redecorate and cleaning, there was a spider web in the disable toliet on the wall. It was terrible. For food wise, it was waste of Time & ££££, I felt like I have been robbed. It was a absolute RIPPED OFF PRICE. The Lobster soup just tasted like fish stock woth Zero Lobster, it was very watery and bland. Waste of £13 ....Seafood were terrible too, it tasted frozen, very small portion, absolutely waste of time and monies. A Very expensive meal, but in return the quality and quantity of food does not add up VS to the price. They have got the cheek to ask for 12.5% Service charge for this kind of food and service. I think they need to close it down and start again. This place seriously need refurbishment. Got Robbed once, NEVER AGAIN AVOID!!!!!!
