I recently purchased ski boots from this store, and I can't express enough how exceptional the service was, thanks to John! His expertise and dedication stood out as he made all the necessary adjustments to ensure a perfect fit. What amazed me even more was that I didn't even prebook an appointment; John went above and beyond to provide top-notch assistance. The personalized service I received truly made my shopping experience outstanding. Kudos to John and the entire team for their commitment to customer satisfaction
From reading the reviews, it seems that if you shop in store, you get a great service. I shopped online as I was buying birthday presents for somebody, and they wanted a specific item that this store stocks. There aren't other stockists in the UK, apparently. I paid £5 for postage despite my order totalling £145 as that was the standard delivery charge, no free delivery available. Five days later, the order hasn't been dispatched. I have emailed enquiring as to when they estimate it will be, but as yet, haven't received a response. I have phoned, but the recorded message informs that if you are enquiring as to your order, you should email so they can provide accurate information. I thought I would ask when they would answer their emails, but after being on hold for two minutes, the line went dead, so I couldn't. The Facebook reviews show people waiting over 10 days for dispatch and phoning 23 times before speaking to a person, so I'm guessing when these items do arrive, they'll be belated birthday presents. Had I known this was the level of customer service, I would have asked the birthday recipient what they wanted months in advance.
Went today for a sleeping matt but sadly.the one I wanted was out of stock, so they gave me a 50% discount on the next model up. You really can't complain with that kind of service. Staff were very polite and helpful
I don't get on the slopes as often as I would like but prior to any event - the guys @ LD have always been approachable and able to give technical support and advise.
Same as other people ordering online - waited days, item not despatched then send an email and no response to that either. Try to call and no answer. Just useless. Will be first and last time I order anything from this company and suggest everyone else avoids them like the plague.
My Wife just visited and had this to say " Was looking for replacement women’s walking boots for 5 year old ones. After browsing and not seeing them on the shelves I was asked if I needed help. After replying that I was looking for replacement boots for the ones I was wearing but I did not know the specific model or size, the knowledgeable guy informed me that they actually had the exact same boots in my size last pair in stock. I tried them on and was happy to buy them immediately. After enquiring the price for which I would have been happy to pay above the odds I paid and left the store. I have since realised that I had an absolute bargain - the same boots are for sale for £24 more at GoOutdoors a popular ‘discount’ store. Very happy and cannot recommend this store more. An asset to the city of Newcastle and will be back again.
My Garment was sent out promptly and efficiently however the company sent me the wrong size. Mistakes happen but like many companies they want the returned item sent at my expense unless the matter is their fault. Clearly it is their fault but as usual the telephone number given spends 10 minutes telling me why I should use the website to return the garment. Of course they don’t have a box on the returns trail for an error they made so I need to email them. I have done that twice now and still no response. Let’s hope they get in touch next week.
Couldn’t speak highly enough of staff in store. I visited a couple of months ago and spoke to Jon regarding an issue I had with my ski boots purchased elsewhere and he suggested I bring them in for him to assess. I visited today but Jon was already dealing with a couple buying new boots. Old John his words not mine got to work on me and the boots and over the next couple of hours tweaked them until he and I were happy. Really well skilled and friendly staff and we ended up buying kit for all the family ahead of a ski trip in the new year. Incidentally, the couple buying the boots have been customers since the 1980s. Great to see an independent offering such a good service. Will definitely be back, and I live in N. Ireland!
Poor customer service. Don’t regularly check stock, so despite emailing me that my item was on its way, they followed up eight days later to say it was out of stock and won’t be delivered. They then offered to “make things right” by sending me my money back, which would be required regardless seen as they never sent the actual product. Told me there’s nothing more they can do and now stuck waiting for a refund.
Ok its a good website and the prices are competitive but if you need to speak to someone for advice, forget it. They put you on hold for ten minutes and then just cut you off, closed early yesterday and today opened late. They also said they would give me a discount code which they haven't. Another company for whom customer service is an unnecessary cost. Update. Still no answer to my emails and looking at my phone log, I have rung them 23 times! Three weeks later, still no response to my emails. Seven weeks later, still no response. They simply don't care.
