Ed and Max were absolutely amazing, nothing was too much trouble, they kept my wife and I informed of everything at our wedding and made our day completely stress free. The rooms where spacious and elegant. Food was fantastic, all in all a superb stay and all our family and friends had nothing but nice things to say about the day/night. Would highly recommend to anyone thinking of having a wedding in Yorkshire.
Very busy hotel, friendly staff, they were so busy had 2 weddings and a 60th in their function rooms. We had an accessible room due to my husband’s electric wheelchair, ground floor, very big wet room, very big bedroom. Bed too low but had are own equipment. Loo was tucked away in a corner not very well thought out but again we had are own equipment, lovely big shower area, had a shower seat but husband cannot transfer to use it, we brought a shower chair with us. Transferring on a wet floor - big no no! Lighting in bathroom a bit dark as no windows. Overall very pleasant stay, lovely wedding, staff really helpful. Good breakfast lots of choice, would come back.
When you've arrived at Lazaat in below zero temperatures you don't expect inside the hotel to feel the same. Reception mildly warm, corridor to room freezing radiator off, room and bathroom freezing no heating on. What a welcome when you've booked! Dining area freezing so chose a table near radiator that actually was on, other guests saying how cold too. Saving grace for us was Max the lovely and welcoming young man who looked after us when we ordered food and drinks and the actual food which was lovely. Also our bin in our bathroom room no.7 had previous guest's plaster in it and the toilet seat needed securing as VERY loose and unfortunately no one to report it to when we left early at 6.20.
Great room and price. Yet, neighbours were too loud till 3:20am; number left for night porter was off so no one was available to approach loud neighbours. Result - had 3 hours sleep. In a morning, receptionist only said sorry and appeared reluctact to acknowledge that night services simply weren't available.Rooms: 5/5
We recently stayed here for a wedding, on arrival the evening receptionist had already checked us in and charged our card without notice as he/she believed we were a no show, despite calling up prior to the visit to explain we would be very late. This was rectified in the morning after we had checked in as the night porters weren't aware this had happened and didn't have access to the system. On the first morning of our stay the breakfast was very nice and filling but the coffee and 'hot' water for teas wasn't at all hot. the wedding set up was lovely and welcoming, organised well by all of the staff involved who were happy to help with anything needed. Bar staff were great and able to keep up with the fast pace of the bar. Comfy beds , although, on arrival next time I would advise anyone to ask for 2 extra pillows as the ones provided already can be flat. Toilet and showering facilities are very good with an excellent hot shower, definitely needed with these colder days. On the second morning of breakfast, the breakfast area was very understaffed and unorganised, more communication and staff needed on the floor to keep on to of things, food running out quickly and again very tepid water for 'hot drinks'. Overall we would stay here again and really enjoyed our stay.
Was here for a works Christmas do. Food was due to be served at 7:30 our starter didn’t come out until 8:20! Main came out at 9:30! To say we were hungry is an understatement! Staff serving just plonked the food down and walked away they appeared rude. Drinks way too overpriced! Considering the number of people and that one of the 2 small bars closed at 10:30pm was absolutely shocking!! Despite the food being nice I will not recommend nor will I return!
Attended a wedding here the other week. The rooms are lovely sadly the staff let the place down. when checking in the room I found the receptionist really distant and cold wasn't helpfull didn't tell me any details were room was ect. I noticed staff members going back and forth to the bride throughout the day surly all the plans and arrangements should be sorted before hand the bride and groom should be left to enjoy there day ? Guests were sat round the tables and the staff started dragging the tables to move them surely everyone should of been moved into alternative bar so they could change the room over to the night do! I just found it so unprofessional. later on the night guests from another function came in to the party and became abusive and your staff was not interested when we alerted you! I found the event poorly planned by yourselfs and felt quite sorry for the bride and groom.
Attended a Christmas dinner/dance. Food was appalling, service was poor, disco wasn't really about Christmas. Parking was appalling. Won't be attending again or recommending, a complete waste of money
Attended a family wedding. Had a great time although alot of that was down to my great family all been present. 3 stars as sadly there was nothing that wow me and all was just as expected for the money so just left feeling it was average. Rooms: As expected rooms.we had the onsuite rooms. Nothing special but nothing to complain either Food & drinks: We attended a family wedding so had the wedding food but also breakfast next morning. Food was ok again I can't say was anything special nothing exciting. Breakfast was a buffet breakfast but did lack some essentials such as black pudding Drinks I spent a fortune on these. They did have martini cocktails 2 for £10 but that's the only drink they offered discount on. Staff was really good and friendly. There was quite a few of us in my family so we ended up just buying full bottles of wine and port as worked out cheaper. It was a wedding so it was expected to pay premium prices so no complaints
Went here for a friend's evening wedding reception. It's a great place to have a party However I can't help thinking they have you captured there so just over charge on the drinks Two beers and a non alcoholic drink Almost £15 Ridiculous
