Ok service I only bought one skinny plank of wood I desperately needed for something and it came to 20 quid? If I didn't need it so badly I would have gone to B&Q and paid 7 pounds for the same piece. I can't help thinking that I got ripped off so one star. Very expensive.
After thrashing out telephone conversations and emails which took a while to finally get what I needed for shelving, the initial service was great as I was only after a simple set of scaffolding boards for cutting real easy and simple Michael and another gentlemen was incredibly helpful so we pushed forward.! delivery done, boards obtained, fab time to work, NO! this is when I realised all measurements I handed over for the boards where ignored, I spent £147.42 for 7 boards plus cutting and delivery but can’t use any of them.. I’m not sure whether there was an error or miscommunication with the cutting and lawsons or not but definitely not what I wanted to experience
Spent £900+ on fencing, MOT and timber. Initially service was great and delivery on time. Then I specifically asked for some straight timbers for a job and got the most warped 4.8m timber I'd ever seen, totally useless. The next delivery was a day late! I dealt with Michael and Kevin who were helpful but the manager will not return my calls. Make your own mind up!!
I was really impressed with service I received from the Camden branch and especially the driver and delivery person Keith who went the extra mile to help me when the goods were being dropped, thank you and please let Keith know the review is live.
Easy to find good for 44 toner nice and quick tip helpful members of staff just sometimes have wait on the road if gets busy
Good range of quality stock. Dedicated and very helpful staff in the office and on the yard.
This local timber merchants is primarily used by the Trade so as a Dire it could be intimidating for the 'novice' but the friendliness of the 'yard' employees offsets this. It gets busy in the timber yard so finding an employee to gain advice or 'write a ticket' for the purchasing of timber. probably needs a bell to ring like 'Last Orders' in a pub? The prices are very competitive to other firms like Travis Perkins. I have used their delivery service which, whilst expensive at £17.50 especially when the delivery driver doesn't help you to carry timber through to the back garden, is timely. Overall, if your friendly to the employees you get the same friendliness in return.
Want to take something back? Well then you have to pay a restocking fee. I can understand if its 4 pallets of bricks but every item, no matter how small incurs a fee. What does that say about customer service With policies like that these guys won't be around much longer. Amazon, Screwfix and Wickes it is.

Lawsons are the best Timber merchants in North London. After Travis bought up all the decent independent merchants it's a rare thing to come across a true trade supplier, the service is helpful efficient and friendly. If Travis hasn't ruined the trade then all the other yards have been bought up to make private flats that nobobdy can afford. I will come a long way to be supplied by these good Lads.
