Reading the reviews I was a little apprehensive about going here but I needed to get my ring size and there is no where else in daventry. The gentleman that served me was extremely professional and honest and explained that your size is different depending on type of ring and initially my hands were too cold and he said this could affect this too. I showed him a style similar to what I assume I’m getting and he told me my ring size. I would definitely come here again. The gentleman is very straight up and honest that doesn’t make him rude as perceived in other reviews.
When I dropped off my watch for a new battery I thought perhaps I was being ‘oversensitive’. The owner was continually moaning about everything including being on his own, he was patronising, his customer service skills were non-existent and I was obviously an ‘inconvenience’ to him. I thought no more of this until my husband collected my watch for me and on his return asked if “that guy has always been an arrogant …..insert expletive here!…”. As I had not mentioned my previous experience in this store it just confirmed my opinion was correct and I was NOT being oversensitive. It’s a shame as the younger staff that have served me there before were lovely and efficient. Needless to say, we will no longer be giving him our business and advising friends and family to avoid the store.
This jewellers is run by the most awful human. He couldn't have been ruder from the get go and broke my necklace more than it already was. Avoid at all costs.
I called to ask their current buying price for gold before traipsing into town, as obviously I didn't want to be carrying valuables around if I didn't have to. The man I spoke to refused to tell me, saying the price of gold fluctuates constantly. I told him I was aware of that fact, but just required their price at that moment in order to not waste his time or mine. Again he refused, and said he'd give a price for my gold in the shop and I could take it or leave it. I ended up selling my gold to a jeweller in another town who cheerfully and willingly gave me their current buying price when requested. I wonder why this particular jeweller is so reluctant to give out pertinent information to people when others give it freely?
After reading review's on here, I thought “Probs just a bunch of moaners, I’ll give it ago lad”. Worse decision I made, offered abysmal money for my gold. I felt the fixed stare I received after being told the amount for my gold was really creepy. Go to goldsmiths on Reagant st in Rugby town centre. Lovely service and owner was really helpful and friendly and offered advice.
I took my engagement ring in to be fixed, and found the sales lady in there to be extremely helpful and friendly. She advised me of the cost and checked the sizing. The ring was sent away to be mended and she told me it would take 2-3 weeks. It took exactly 2 weeks and they left me a voicemail to say it was ready for collection. When I went to collect, I was a little early and the shop wasn’t open, but the lady saw me outside and opened the shop for me. She showed me the ring, which was all mended and shinier then I think I have ever seen it! It looks brand new and perfect condition. I cannot fault their Customer service or jewellery service at all and I will use them again in the future.
We went in to ask to view a man's watch, which was in the window. When telling him which watch it was, he said that shouldn't be in the window as the box is missing. We insisted that was the one we wanted to look at, not bothered about box. He reluctantly got it from the display. Most unhelpful man, maybe because it was only a £55 watch and not worth his effort. Need an old ring repairing as bent the shank, but after reading reviews on here I will go elsewhere.
There are many things I could say about my visit here. I'm pretty sure the manager there reads these reviews, I'm just surprised ther aren't more bad ones, as every time I've walked past here there have been customer going in and out. Clearly they must just be "looking around", because clearly any interaction with the manager here will turn you away forever. All I need to say, is despite there only being like 6 reviews here, you can clearly see a pattern. I had EXACTLY the same experience as everyone else who has reviewed here so I am just so shocked this guy hasn't changed. I went in for what could've been a very easy visit, and just left completely baffled and furious, despite really managing to keep my cool in there. When he reads this, he'll probably remember me. First and foremost, I understand any jeweller not wanting to invest in some jewellery. If you have an excess of that stock, or simply don't think there is a market for it, just say that. I won't go into our entire conversation, but the guy just barked questions at me to which I had no idea the answers, which I was offering to get by bringing up my online order, and demanding that I give him a price I was looking for. I told him I had no idea, that was sort of the point... When I gave him a figure he simply put the ring down and said he wasn't interested. To which I obviously said well, I told you I don't know what price to expect here? Anyway to cut this story much shorter than it was, I tried to stroke his outrageously inflated, pulsating veiny ego and ask him for his professional opinion based on what he could see what I should realistically be looking for when selling this on, and he simply kept reiterating that he wasn't interested in purchasing it. I've honestly never seen such abhorrent service anywhere. I can actually say this is the first time I've ever experienced someone like this in the world and it just baffles me that he continues to trade. One wonders exactly how he IS staying afloat still. Don't go here. I won't name names for any potential legal reasons, but there is a MUCH better jewellers in Daventry, where I received perhaps the best service I have ever received. Go there.
There's alot I could say about the guy who owns it, but I'd be wasting more time on him than I already have. I'm surprised he's still open, he's not worth a single penny and needs shutting down, period. I'd say alot about this guy, but as it's a Google review let's just say I would call him everything under the sun! No-one should work for him and no-one should even bother visiting, any money spent here is just a waste of value. What a waste of a man and store than could be put to much better use. If only I could put zero stars, because he is not even worth 1!
Awful. What an rude man. No respect for customers at all. Don't waste your time in there. I won't be returning again. Other staff were lovely. Went in looking for help and advice on purchasing some chains. He proceeded to rudely interrupt me and the lady serving me not once, but twice, undermining her in the proceed, to practically tell me if I didn't know exactly what I was looking for they couldn't help me.
