My partner and I recently picked Latimer Lee Conveyancing Solicitors for a house purchase. We were assigned an individual conveyance and the service he gave was phenomenal. From the beginning to finish, we were kept informed of the procedures and progress and our messages were responded promptly and professionally. I have no hesitation in recommending them to loved ones and would use them again.

We used Latimer Lee when we bought our house. 5 years later we are still having problems due to work that should have been finalised upon completion. Terrible service. Please avoid.

Very disappointing. Have tried numerous times to speak to someone regarding progression with both of my remortgages however have had no luck.

At the end of this review I said they resolved my latest issue (which had been going on for 6 weeks) within 48 hours of me chasing... well guess what? Today (almost 2 months later) I get an email from our managing agent chasing us telling us that Latimer Lee have not paid them and will be passing this on to their solicitor in the next 10 days to chase myself and my partner... who will incur legal charges as well. Let me say - appalling - once more. ------------- Appalling. We rented a flat and bought a nice flat in Brighton. We were repeatedly told we'd be exchanging next week, later this week, tomorrow... but no one ever came back to confirm. Turns out the vendors lost their property and the chain collapsed. We only found out by speaking to the vendor's estate agents. It's a sad state of affairs when the people you're told are sharks (ie. the vendors Estate Agents) are the only people you can trust. Anyway... vendors found a property and guess what? Told we'd be exchanging next week, later in the week... and so on. 50% truth and 50% lies. Took bang on 4 months in total which would've been ok had we been told the truth. Unfortunately we lived in a rented flat with a 6 month contract due to expire which put us under even more pressure. In the flat 3 months and we're told we owe a large amount of money to the managing agent. Not us... it was the old vendors account that hadn't been cleared. 6 weeks after raising this with Latimer Lee (on more than one occasion and being told it would be sorted) we get a phone call saying the managing agent will be taking legal action against us unless we clear the account and get it paid by the end of next week. Today I'm told this will be sorted and I'll be updated by the end of business tomorrow... fingers crossed! Don't use Latimer Lee - spend a bit more money and pick someone local that was recommended. The broker who recommended them was equally useless but that's another story : ) Professionals ain't professional. ------------------ Edit: "Today I'm told this will be sorted and I'll be updated by the end of business tomorrow... fingers crossed!" Just wanted to add that this pain in the backside that ran on for 6 weeks was resolved as promised by the end of business today. Credit for that.
