I go to the Lasswade centre on a regular basis, because my local centre is closed due to private bookings half the time.nI have to say I agree with the reviews about how dirty the changing rooms are. They are filthy! Covered in mud, hair, and litter.nSome of the lifeguards rarely watch the pool. They're all too busy opening the fire exit and chatting to each other at it.nNot all of them I might add. There is one in particular who wears white crocs that works her butt off! And there seem to be a few new faces that stay poolside and keep an eye.nThe reception staff are always friendly. Waved us through once when the tills were down.nThe pool facilities are actually very good, busy and well used. It's not a cold pool either, quite a comfortable temperature.nThe showers are rubbish. There is 2 that work properly because they have new shower heads on them but the rest are all worn out inside so shoot all over the place. Bit of a joke considering it's what less than a tenner for a replacement shower head?nIt's a real shame the cleanliness and some bad eggs let the place down.
This would be a good place if the gym was better maintained. As the only local walking distance gym in the area, the place has a real opportunity to be great but sadly there are many broken parts to the gym currently and old machines. For example the leg extension machine and other machines are out of action. The plated leg press is old and dated. For £34 a month, it's not really worth it at the current rate but I'll edit my review once the broken equipment is fixed, replaced or the place gets an uphaul.
The health suite is pleasant, compared to the one in Penicuik, which is broken. Nice friendly staff. Could do with a cold water dispenser though!
Really good pool. Nice and clean. Lockers could do either being updated and a matching to dry your costume off would be good
Really friendly helpful staff, entrance is hard to find if you have never been before
