Mixed emotions with this practice.nnI have visited twice in the last month or so, and both times I was able to get an appointment same day, or next. The receptionist was very friendly both times, which makes a nice change from other surgeries. I personally like that you get sent a triage form instead of having to explain on the phone. They contact you very quickly once it's sent.nnThe GPs are SUPER friendly - however I feel like I have been somewhat dismissed both times and not taken as seriously, because I cope well with pain.
This used to be excellent but they took on too many patients and are still open to take on more. You can only get appointments within 3 or 4 days time and if you do it's often a nurse. Where are the GP. No wonder A&E are so busy. This place needs taking to task. They are paid NHS money based upon various factors but one is the patients they have registered. Yet they don't provide an adequate level of service to the community.nnThey work for us. The NHS isn't free. We pay huge sums of tax to fund it and to train the Doctors in the first place.nnAnd Where's the Labour MP who on the doorstep pledged to fix this.nExactly. Rant over.
I can not fault my recent experience Dr Elizabeth Skinner was amazing and receptionist was soo good with all patient queries, that i could hear while i was waiting. What a change.
Terrible practice.nLovely Dr's when you finally get in which is pretty impossible anyway. You have to pretty much fight a case against the receptionists to prove why you think you're worthy enough to be given the privilege of seeing a dr . Even then its still a really slim chance you actually actually see a Dr.nThey got someone else's notes on my account. Got told by someone who wasn't a Dr that I couldn't get the medication I needed . Called in agony just needed help but was met with snarkey comments and had a full argument over the phone very unprofessional! I wasn't being treated with dignity or respect. The Dr did give me the medication I needed.so she was wrong .nAlso keep getting other comments on my notes about how many baby clinic and Dr's appointments I had missed for the baby.nPlease bare in mind I have no baby. My children are grown up .nAbsolutely braking gdpr regulations.nI have now had to take this further..nYou get no compassion or empathy from the rest of the staff. And was very unprofessional writing in my notes ,absolute rubbish about me like a school girl because she spoke to me like absolute rubbish.nThey shouldn't be giving out misinformation and giving out medical advice when clearly they aren't qualified to do so.nI'm just wondering whos notes these are and Where's my baby because irresponsible me .. I've lost it. Infact I don't even remember giving birth so it must have been a easy labour this time.nAlso they can't be that concerned because they've been sending them for a few months now. And I still haven't had checks done on it ‍nShocking behaviour. Very unprofessional.nYou come out with a mental illness just dealing with the rude receptionist and people who think they're Dr's.
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the recent experience I have had while attempting to arrange a sick note through Larksfield Surgery web.nnI had been advised by senior medical staff at the Bedford Hospital that I could request a sick note online. However, upon attempting to do so, I received a message stating that I need to book an appointment. Given the current circumstances, I find this particularly frustrating, as securing an appointment is a significant challenge. The wait times on the phone are often over an hour, and I have also encountered issues with the online system.nnFurthermore, I have noticed that the online booking form is only available starting at 12:30 pm, and if you are not quick to submit, all available appointments are gone within minutes. This makes it virtually impossible to access care in a timely manner. It is concerning that such a critical service is not more effectively managed, especially when dealing with something as essential as sick notes.nnThe inefficiencies I’ve experienced raise broader concerns about the overall management of GP surgeries and the NHS system as a whole. There seems to be a lack of business acumen in handling these essential services, and the difficulties I have encountered in trying to access care are not isolated incidents. These systemic issues are undermining the quality of care and trust in the healthcare system.nnI would appreciate it if you could address these concerns and provide more clarity on how the system can be improved for the benefit of patients.
