What a fantastic little cafe. We were staying in Brighton & I googled vegetarian fry up & this was one of the results that came up. I'm so glad we chose here as the food was just fabulous. The potato rosti was out of this world, the garlic favour was lush. The vegetarian sausages were so tasty & the gluten free bread was lovely that it was stocked. I was so happy they let me make up my own breakfast. My husband had the vegetarian breakfast & he loved that the fried eggs were cooked perfectly. The portions were just right. Friendly staff, amazing chef, very reasonable price. Just wish I was local. Thank you so much you have an amazing cafe.
Lovely little cafe with charming decor. As someone local to the area, I visit frequently for a flat white to go and the staff are always welcoming. I have also taken friends and family there for quick bites and brunch and have never been disappointed.
Great food, calm atmosphere, friendly staff, clean toilet.Food: 5/5
Nice brunch menu in a well presented cafe, coffee made well, friendly & smiling girl serving could've done with more help cleaning sticky tables, bringing out food etc. Beef sausages bit hard and wierd. Decent value for money. Not English breakfast, its an international replicaFood: 3/5
Update: Still delightful. The rooibos Gingerbread chai tea is magic and the halloumi brunch pretty special. But the chicken burger, with added cranberry sauce, was emotional. The taste of the 90s, right there. It's a big meal, but a journey worth taking. Just delightful. Can, cosy and surprisingly tucked away from the street. Has the feeling of nanna's pantry, and the taste. Food was on warmed plates, with healthy portions and honest ingredients. Those mushrooms in tarragon butter.. inspired. Run by a friendly team and well worth a few visits.
Went for Sunday lunch, loved the building, very similar in style to The Lion & Lobster, but on a grander scale. We were there from 12, only a couple of other tables dining at that time. Service started off well enough, then disappeared completely after we had ordered. After 30 minutes our main courses arrived, we never saw the starter we ordered so decided to dispense with it as our mains were clearly ready. 2 had the burger, pretty underwhelming, and 1 was so black on one side that it was like crunching on charcoal. 2 had roast sirloin, the sirloin was very nicely cooked, potatoes tasty but not at all crispy, the giant yorkshire pudding was lovely we know has we had an extra one on the side The one with the roast was filled with all the vegetables, including a mountain of grey red cabbage, absolutely ruining what would have otherwise been a lovely yorkie. What is wrong with serving vegetables on the plate, and the yorkshire on top I have no idea. If you have a roast, order it as gluten free which won't come with a yorkshire pud but ask to have the yorkshire on the side, then you roast will be served in the usual manner and the yorkshire won't be ruined. Desserts were 2 tart tatins, one had to ask for a knife to get through the pastry! Mushy apple on top, nothing really resembling a tart tatin, and served with 'dairy free' ice-cream? both opted to have it with sorbet instead. No excuses for poorly executed food and service, it was early and really quiet. Love the building though so will just stick to drinks in future.
Awesome place love the theme proper English cafe on the highest order.... really kind service, great prices , exceptional food.... the perfect balance xxFood: 5/5
Just stopped by here for a sausage and onion sandwich vegan option, takeaway cappo, tea and bottle of water. Brilliant fast, efficient service. Drinks labelled. Sarnies amazing. What a find!! No wonder so many stars. Thank you team.
A lovely cafe with good food and cakes which are a must try!. They use local food in a lot of their dishes and the service was good.
Great place offering a good selection of breakfasts, brunch and drinks freshly made to order.
