I cannot recommend Lapworth Architects highly enough. During the initial stages, we obtained several quotes, and although Lapworth was not the cheapest, I found them forthcoming and easy to communicate with. When planning your future home, especially a sizable project, this quality is invaluable. Once we confirmed our engagement with them, the team promptly conducted a thorough survey. They spent extensive time with me discussing my requirements and understanding my vision, while offering their expert opinions on what would and wouldn’t work well. They combined my ideas with their expertise and created a masterpiece, which was easily visualizable through the provided 3D renders. We then reviewed the designs together, made necessary tweaks, and prepared for submission. Throughout the entire process, they managed everything seamlessly, answering all questions that arose and making design amendments as needed. Nothing seemed like too much work for them; the team was always approachable and responsive, which is crucial. In summary, if you are looking for architects capable of handling projects of any size while still being attentive to your individual needs, Lapworth Architects is the firm you need. Unprofessional firm! Michael from Lapworth undertook our work and did a very poor job. The main reason for our application being refused was cited as insufficient information. We supplied Michael with all the key documents and information yet he did not bother to read anything we provided. He failed to include basic information on the type of planning we applied for. It almost felt like he had no interest in doing the application, I wish he was honest and did not take our work. We had real difficulties getting hold of Michael throughout our process, he is extremely tardy with responding to emails and telephone calls. We lost significant amounts of money due to using his company. He agreed to submit the application again since he clearly knew he had messed up however, after initial agreement he ghosted us. I’d used Michael’s firm after seeing positive reviews but oversaw a few that did state he is poor at communication, I wish we paid more attention to those reviews. Do your due diligence before using this firm, I had very poor experience!
Lapworth Architects stepped up to the mark, they understood our requirements from the start and communicated clearly throughout the whole process. Mike was on the case quickly to offer options for the design for our loft conversion. Rob and James were on site rapidly and delivered a comprehensive design to our very tight deadline and budget. Recently had dealing with manoj at L.A regarding approval of party wall application which was required as part of the over all extension, I found manoj to be helpful and it was L.A chasing me to sign required documents and to complete required paper work as opposed to the other way round at times even out of business hours which was surprising , A firm being on the ball is really what you want and flexibility of knowing you can speak to someone when there is need to helps especially where there are time constraints to avoid unnecessary delays.
Michael was great and helped us out of a difficult spot. We hadn't realised that we had to apply for retrospective planning permission on a change to our garage roof. Michael arranged for the drawings to be done quickly and organised the paperwork for the application well ahead of the deadline that had been set for us. Thankfully it all went well and we now have the necessary permissions.
Mike is extremely professional in dealing with planning, kept me updated and pushed towards the final outcome of the build.Highly recommend.
Absolutely amazing service! Michael acted as our party wall surveyor. We turned to Lapworth Architects to seek advice after receiving incorrect notices from our neighbours architect. Michael is very professional and has an abundance of knowledge. He spotted the flagrant errors by our neighbours architect immediately. After a discussion with our neighbours architect in which Michael clearly exposed their failures in the legal processes when serving the notices in question, they finally rescinded the notices. Lapworth Architects charged a very reasonable fee and did not take advantage of our situation at all. We are forever grateful to you! Five stars are not enough! I had a great experience with Michael at Lapworth Architects. They handled a very unique and complex planning application for my property, which involved a lot of challenges and regulations. They were professional, creative, and responsive throughout the process, and delivered a high-quality solution that met all my requirements and expectations. We employed Michael andJames and Lapworth Architects to design a double storey extention to our house in Earlswood. James with the help of Mike achieved planning consent for a 75% volume increase in Green Belt. They helped find a builder and agreed a detailed payment plan. James visited the house during the build stage on 4 occasions without any costs implication. The service from start to finish was remarkable and we are all thrilled with the outcome. Thank you.
