About

Langsett Cycles is one of the countries oldest cycle shops having being around since 1915, and we continue to offer great service and products to this day

Story

Langsett Cycles is one of the oldest cycle shops in the country. It began trading around 1890 on Langsett Rd and moved the present Infirmary Rd premises in 1930 and has been a integral part of cycling in the Yorkshire/Derbyshire area ever since.

Back in the 1950's & 60's the famous Langsett of Sheffield Frames were made on the premises. These were treasured possessions for those lucky enough to get their hands on them or who could afford them! and they were a common site on the podium at all the top races throughout the country.

During the 1980's Langsett Cycles were at the forefront of the BMX revolution and were certainly responsible for the huge uptake of the sport in the area with its successful race team.

To more recent times now and the advent of Mountain Bikes, again Langsetts were at the forefront of the sport with a combination of top brands and riders we were definitely a force to be reckoned with.
One of our Proudest achievements was the discovery of 2 old Langsett Boys namely Steve Peat and Will Longden. Steve and Will were weedy little teenagers when they first started to come into the shop, but as soon as you so them on a bike it was clear to see they had something special.
Though our sponsorship and backing they went from strength to strength as can be seen from the long list of successful results in National and International events, finally resulting with Steve becoming World Downhill Champion in 2009 .

We do not just cater for World Champions we have a very friendly & loyal workforce that have all worked in the shop for over 15yrs so they really know there stuff, wether it be a bolt for your kids stabilisers or help setting up the suspension on your new mountain bike.

We have a large shop which enables us to stock and display all kinds of bikes for all ages and needs.
We have a large display of clothing and accessories, with a new Ladies Only department with too may items to mention, so if there is anything you need for your bike we stock it!.

We have been awarded the status of SHIMANO SERVICE CENTRE and have a fully equipped Workshop with fully trained CYTECH mechanics that can carry out any repair you have, including work on suspension units, disc brake systems and wheel building and truing all at very reasonable prices.

Just a fabulous experience. After being told somewhere else my bike wasn’t worth repairing, I brought it here and by the end of the next afternoon it was as good as new, with new parts at a very reasonable price! Very friendly and an all-round easy and enjoyable experience. Very highly recommended for servicing!
Top notch. A pleasure talking to Andy. Loads of great advice and a good old chat about Le Tour and all things Yorkshire and Peak District #cycling #tdf #tdy
As ever, with some Langsett Cycles TLC my bike is better than new. This time they even came up with a clever solution to a manufacturer’s design flaw, so the front shifting is much smoother and it’ll be much easier to change cables in future.
Prices and styles of bicycle to suit all budgets and requirements. The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable.
My chain broke. Dropped by at 5.15 and they repaired it there and then. No fuss. Also gave good advice on what e-bike to buy. Thanks
Great service. As a relative bike novice, they've been really good with me.
Great independent bike shop. Nothing seems too much trouble, the lads are always willing to go the extra mile to keep your cycle wheels turning. I'm never disappointed when I go in.
Excellent service.
Nice shop but the Staff were a little too busy.
