Historical and beautiful. Great for walks, pickings in the summer time. Coffee place inside the castle it's a great addition. Tours with guide are provided and there is still functioning court inside the castle.
During covid the castle is accessible but there were no tours. It is free to walk around but you can't access the biding and battlements beyond the ground floor courtyard area but the cafe and toilets were open
Lovely outdoor space which you can access for free. The guided tours were cancelled due to covid, but recommend visiting even the outdoor spaces!
Brilliant place to visit, 1000 year old castle. A lot of work been done and some of it still closed off to the public whilst more work is being done, but still worth a little look around if your in Lancaster!
Great English castle in a commanding location. Even though access is limited at present still worth a visit to admire the different buildings and appreciate the history. Nice cafe available onsite.

Amazing! Even without tours at this time the Castle is so beautiful and medieval, can't believe it's 1,941 years old! WOW! The history is mind blowing.
