A lovely village pub in a great location. Our room was quite small described as cosy but very comfortable. Super dinner with wonderful range on menu. Very good and prompt service. Short but interesting wine list. Great range of malt whiskies too. Nice continental breakfast. Overall great value for money and we were delighted to introduce another couple to the place we had so enjoyed visiting before.
We stayed the night at this pub 5 years ago and it was really comfortable and we had a delicious evening meal. Unfortunately, although the staff were very pleasant the food has reduced to very basic pub food and the bed was so soft it hurt my back and I ended up sleeping on the sofa. I've never encountered that problem anywhere before. They no longer provide a cooked breakfast so we didn't have anything. A pleasant pub for a drink but all in all pretty disappointing and not a very good start to our holiday. Rooms: See above - the bed was extremely uncomfortable. The bathroom was tiny. Food & drinks: Catering has fallen off a cliff since we were there in 2019. Very basic pub food and no cooked breakfast.
Me, my husband and our toddler, took this mum to this restaurant a few weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised! My mother-in-law has very high standards and only likes the finest things in life, so taking her out to eat can be tricky. She really enjoyed it and so did we! It wasn't pub grub nothing wrong with that but was really fresh and the option's isn't what you normally see in the area. We will definitely be back! They went out of my way for my little one and was very friendly and welcoming. It was almost perfect, the food took a little longer then expected but worth the wait for the quality you get! Also the portion size was very generous and my husband loved that. We weren't sure about parking and didn't know there was a car park anywhere so we tried to fit in on the street, after talking to the man behind the bar maybe the owner he let us know there was a carpark, so look out for that when coming as it's well worth it. We look forward to coming back soon.
Wonderful local pub - historic. "Chargrill" menu is successful. Book in advance and for large parties and you can also place your order in advance which facilitates the service. Dog friendly. No car park but you can use the parish hall carpark which has lots of space, no charge, and is a three minute walk to the Lamb.Service: 5/5
Excellent 1 night stay here whilst cycling North Devon. Secure place for bicycle overnight, friendly service, great beer and food, lovely proper village type pub. Really peaceful, left early in the morning.Rooms: 5/5
Great room in a quaint location. Good bathroom and shower. Tight for parking but found a place quite easily. Would stay here again.Rooms: 5/5
Visited for group meal for 18 people, parking at pub is a problem but there is a public car park about 75 yards away that usually has a fair bit of room. As we were a pre booked group, the menu was a little restricted from the normal menu but there was a fair selection. Worth a mention are the roast pork belly and the burgers, for the sweet it has to be the lemon curd pavlova. Downsides were the unusual selection of vegetables on offer with the meals.
Excellent!!. We were greeted with a wonderful open fire and smiles from the locals. We chose the cozy room which was small , but perfectly adequate. The cafetiere and ground coffee was a nice touch as were the biscuits. Lovely and warm, nice and clean. We sat by the fire in the pub and chatted, everyone was so kind and friendly, we loved it. We ate at the pub which was excellent. I'd describe it as gastropub food . I had the Moroccan lamb, cooked to perfection and my husband had belly pork. The hummus starter was homemade and divine. We look forward to staying here again. Thank you . Food & drinks: We stayed here last night and had the hummus with flatbread, plenty for 2 to share. The pork belly was divine, it was served with bubble and squeak which was really tasty . There was a big chunk of crackling and the gravy was outstanding.
Great little pub. Good food Nice staff No parkingLocation: 4/5
We have very recently had our elopement wedding at the lamb inn and it was amazing start to finish. Vikky and Nick put every effort into ensuring we had the most enjoyable, stress free wedding. From being our witnesses to filming the wedding for us to show family, to Vikky helping me into my dress. It was great. Nothing was too much trouble. The wedding suite was private and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The inn itself is beautiful and in a great relaxing location. My husband even thought the local shop was cute and was taking photos We got some great wedding photos outside and by the local church. The food is the best we've had, genuinely. And we eat out alot! We would definitely recommend the burger, and brownie Thankyou so much Vikky and Nick and all of your other lovely staff; we wish we could of stayed longer and we will definitely be back! Thankyou for sharing our special day. Emma and Karl Xx Rooms: Wedding suite was beautiful and well equipped. Food & drinks: Simply the best food.
