Went for breakfast earlier this week which was nice. We returned for lunch yesterday and... wow The portions were humongous!! And the food was top notch. We've never been anywhere where we haven't been able to finish our meals due to the amount served! I did finish all mine as it was mostly salad, but my son and mother had to ask for takeaway boxes to take half their meals home!! I had the Scampi and Caper salad, I was expecting a little serving of side salad with a few scampi and potatoes on the side.... when it arrived I was really impressed with the amount on the plate and how it was presented It looked visually exciting and there was alot of scampi. Mum had the monster brunch with an add on of black pudding. Monster is an understatement And they gave her two rounds of black pudding, they certainly don't skimp on portions!! My son had ham egg and chips and again, absolutely crammed on the large plate and the ham was excellent quality. When they asked to take the rest home there was no fuss or embarrassment, the server was more than happy to make it possible. Which brings me to the staff. A really lovely young lady took our order at the counter, she was so friendly, giggly and polite and the young gentleman waiting the tables was a really lovely chap, he was bubbly, polite, energetic, smiley and nothing was too much trouble! To the extent that he made it his mission to valiantly decommission a rogue wasp who was intent on terrorising my mother Owners take note, give that lad a raise he's a huge asset to your establishment. The beautiful view of the trees over the lake is an added bonus. An all round lovely mid day dining experience. The pictures don't do the food justice, the plates are twice the size of normal household plates and they were full to the rims!!
Was greeted by a really friendly waitress. We sat down and was served promptly with some really nice produce. Staff were really friendly and will definitely go again. The carvery looked awesome too. There's a bar there which looked well stocked
A regular visit for us, always lovely food, especially the carvery on a Sunday. Reasonably priced. A really friendly atmosphere and the staff are fantastic. Highly recommendedRecommended dishesScooby Snack Burger and Fries, Sunday Roast Cavery
A great setting and extensive menu. Three out of four had excellent food, chicken wrap, macaroni cheese and cheesy chips with a sausage Unfortunately I drew the short straw with an egg mayonnaise sandwich, tasty, but not worth £6.50 compared to the other food, hence only 4 stars.Food: 4/5
A lovely, friendly cafe with great, simple food and a bar. A hidden gem in Horam! While eating, you can over- look the pretty fishing lake. Enchanting on Friday and Saturday evenings when they open until 9pm and turn on all the coloured lights.
Family visit, Sunday Lunch treat. Great food, excellent friendly, helpful staff and the atmosphere created by music selected by the owner popular music from the 60's and 70's on this occasion brought a warm, non intrusive, upbeat background to a very much enjoyed couple of hours We will most definitely be back. Thank you Lakeside. gary c.
Very tasty food, but WOW is it expensive ! .The woman who I think is the wife of the owner, is THE rudest and most patronising person I have ever met. We visited twice whilst staying on the campsite and on both occasions she was terrible !! She clearly had her favourite customers and made this abundantly clear too ! My tip is for her to have a career change and go do a job where she does not need to communicate with anyone !
We had a late breakfast sandwich here. The food was excellent with a generous filling, plenty of sausages in mine and bacon in my husband's. Slight drawback was the lack of space between the tables. We were in motorcycle kit. I would go back though. They are also dog-friendly.
Stopped in as not been for a while, friendly welcoming atmosphere, good tunes, even better brekkie. Vegetarian options: Why would you go for veggie when local sausages n bacon are soooooo good! Parking: Easy parking provided the olds aren’t doing yoga next door
Went in for a breakfast, was greeted by a lovley lady. Ordered the 3 musketeers with a hot Choclate topped with cream.. Food was served quickly and fresh to order. Everything was cooked perfectly even a lovley runny egg yolk. Toast was slightly cold though. Hot Choclate was yummy! Music was slightly too loud for 9.30 in the morning. But otherwise great atmosphere. Would go back again.
