We have just had our whole house decorated by Gill and her team and we couldn't be more pleased with the end result. The work has been carried out to the highest standard with great care being taken to move and protect furniture and fittings. Gill couldn't have been more helpful and her happy team of Sharon, Emma, Georgia and Jenny were a pleasure to have in our house. So - a huge thank you to everyone. My family and I have used Lady decorators twice in the last few years. First time round the work was excellent and the team trustworthy and friendly. We were having work done on 3 different floors so Gill had a person working on each floor. The workplaces were always left clean and tidy at the end of each day. 3 years on I decided to decorate another 3 rooms and Gill was the only decorator I contacted. Again my experience was excellent, I was undecided about colours so Gill brought round large colour samples for each room and gave me her opinion, I was very happy with the outcome. On both occasion when they were here we had other things going on in our house but Gill and her team just worked around whatever we needed to do. Gill left me some spare paint for each room in case we needed to touch up any walls at any time and today when I managed to cause a small bit of water damage to a ceiling Gill kindly offered to give me some paint to use. That really is going beyond what she needs to do. Will I use them again, absolutely.

I cannot praise Gill and her team enough. They were professional throughout, gave me a quote not an estimate so I knew exactly how much I was spending and Gill was the only person out of many quotes that didn't come in and immediately start to tell me what was wrong with the area. She simply told me that they could 'make this look really lovely' and they did. The ladies were cleaning throughout their time, left everything immaculate every eve and made sure that we were still able to function as a family. Really excellent experience. The worst experience of dealing with a "professional" person in over 40 years. We booked months in advance for the open-plan part of our house to be done in 2 phases separated by a couple of weeks. The first part was done to a very high standard apart from a couple of bits that were not finished well. I called and said exactly and only that, but was met with immediate hostility. (Why should I accept parts of the work being left to a standard that I would need to re-do when I was paying a good amount of money?) Gill and the decorator returned on the Wednesday, and Gill claimed that what I was seeing was what I should expect from asking for water-based paint to be used. The windowsill was repainted and, strangely, ended up being considerably better. The door re-paint was a disaster, but the decorator said she would keep coming back until is was OK. Friday. Both returned, with Gill even more hostile. I was asked for my email address. The door was left in a bad state, but the decorator said she would be back next week, no problem. Monday and one week away from phase 2. Email from Gill saying they would not be back to do the second phase, and obviously not to complete the door either. I even had to ask her for a refund because of the uncompleted work. The decision was obviously made the previous week, but Gill did not have the common decency or courage to say that to my face. Completely unprofessional. It left us with a part-completed project (open-plan) and the task of finding somebody else to do it. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update: The work has now been done by J.A.A. Smith in Horsham, who have done a brilliant job for significantly less money. They have come up with a solution for a problem we have in the shower room, and it looks like we will have them back for that and more work. They don't seem to mind being shown the few things that were not quite to standard, and in fact, welcomed it. Really nice people to deal with.

Yet another totally professional job by Lady Decorators. A detailed estimate and time scale were provided in advance and a date put in the diary. A few days prior to commencing work, Gill Burn turned up in person to discuss final colour choices. As I was unsure, she had painted each of my favourites onto a large square of paper that I could stick on the wall and live with for a few days to help me make up my mind. It seemed to really matter to Gill that I was completely happy with my choice and I didn't feel hurried or that I was a nuisance. Gill's team turned up on the date and time planned. I think this is important as I don't like to be messed around and I also think it shows a high level of organisational skill. The team are delightful, hard-working, quiet and polite and very easy to live with. The areas they were working in were left tidy at the end of each day and great care was taken to protect other areas of the house that they had to walk through. But the main thing really is the quality of the work. I was extremely pleased with the work, as usual. Edges are sharp, woodwork is spectacular, coverage complete. My father-in-law who is hard to please and fond of a chance to criticise, approves - high praise, I assure you! I will continue to use Lady Decorators in my home and have no hesitation recommending them to friends and family. Gill Burn in particular, is reliable - a job starts on time and costs exactly what was quoted on the estimate, incredibly knowledgable about colour and interior design, helpful and friendly and runs the job totally professionally from start to finish.
