Having flown with LAC starting in 2018, finishing up my PPL this year after a couple of breaks, training here has been really enjoyable throughout: LAC has a large fleet of C150s, C152s, PA28s and a C172, meaning lack of aircraft is generally never an issue. Mark, who was my instructor, is clearly incredibly experienced, knowledgeable and always extremely supportive from nought to licensed; always available to offer help with absolutely any questions regarding flying. All of the instructors here seem to generally love flying and want to pass that on. Simon and Lesley from Reception are really great; really friendly, helpful and hospitable. For a trial or discovery flight gift, or training towards a LAPL or PPL, if you're in the North West, definitely try out LAC.
Big thanks to LAC flying school and John the instructor who took me up to have a flying lesson.. the instructor was great, made me feel so relaxed, clearly explained everything and he defo new his stuff. See you again soon for another lesson with John. Thanks for a great time. Recommend.
Got a trial lesson as a gift what a great gift! It was rescheduled a couple of times due to weather, but the team were very helpful in working with my availability. Then finally did the lesson and Tony was lovely. Made it both fun and educational, and I got lots of hands-on time actually flying the plane. I’ll be back!
I've been a student at LAC for the last 2 years and have just recently passed my PPLA. I wanted to write this review to let everyone know what a fabulous flying school LAC is. The team are now like an extended family and I've always found them to go above and beyond my expectations with any help or advice I've needed along the way. There is also a great social side with all the other students, with a group chat where people discuss things and help each other along with the occasional night out!. So, if you're thinking of learning to fly, or even just having a pleasure flight, please get in touch with these guys. You won't be disappointed. Huge thanks to my instructor Mark and the rest of the team, Kate, Tony, Simon, Lesley, John and too many others to name.
From my first trial flight a year ago through to completion of my Skills Test yesterday the team have gone above and beyond to make sure the experience has been fantastic. Jim McBrinn has carried out virtually all of my training and the effort he has put in to get me to this stage still amazes me from the first flight his passion for flying is infectious and you cant help but get hooked. He has a way of building your confidence and continually pushing you to improve there were many times when i just thought i will never be able to do this but then suddenly it all starts to click. I have never seen or heard of a flight school with such a fantastic team of instructors and support staff and just seeing how full the diary for flights gets is testament to how great a job they do. If anyone is thinking of starting there journey towards becoming a pilot you will not find a better place to start than LAC and if your extra lucky maybe even managing to get Jim as your instructor. Thanks again for everything.

As a student at LAC Flying School I have only praise and warm words for the school. Learning to fly with LAC has been an absolute joy from day one. I highly recommend Kate, Mark, and the rest of team at LAC if you are interested in learning to fly, or even just want to experience a trial flight in a light aircraft around Manchester.
My experience of LAC Flying School has been excellent. I was flying fixed wing microlights and wanted to convert to a full EASA PPLA and didn't know where to start. LAC helped me with everything, including the ground school and I am now just waiting for the licence to drop on my doorstep from the CAA. Helpful, friendly, competitively priced and I find the aircraft very good to fly. I have done almost 100 hours with their aircraft now and working towards being an airline pilot having started the ATPLA. My personal experience means I can only say only good things about LAC.
Went to LAC flying school yesterday to take a trial lesson and also surprise my dad as a passenger, I already have some flying experience so I was allowed to conduct most of the flight and our instructor Martin was still able to show me some tips and tricks, that I didn’t learn at my flight school! Martin was fantastically knowledgable about the history of the Manchester area and made the flight even more enjoyable! Kate deserves a mention for arranging everything for me when I live in western Canada with a 7 hour time difference! She was brilliant! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this flying school for anybody looking to learn to fly - especially to learn the sadly diminishing art of hand flying with real instruments! Thanks Again!!!
Had an amazing flying experience with LAC. My pilot was Vic, he was brilliant professional informative and kind. I was actually allowed to fly the plane! It was amazing. What an experience. I can recommend LAC, Vic and flying.
