Its always great trying new places and with La Taverna being right opposite where we were staying in Aviemore it made for a great choice. I highly recommend booking in advance though as they can book up really fast. The restaurant itself is really vintage with an almost romantic feel, staff are really bubbly and friendly and the menu is full of all your favourites. I can't quite get over how good the pizza was, definitely one of the best I have ever had. If you like large portions then this place is definitely for you, it isn't expensive and would make for a lovely date night location.
Terrible, terrible food. The cheesy garlic bread was undercooked and tasted doughy. Not even the cheese helped. I left most of it. The pasta was overcooked, couldn't twirl it around your fork as it would just break with a wet, soggy snap. Sauce pretty much tasted as if it was out of a tin. Chips were ok. Portion was generous. Service was good. View spectacular. I guess you don't go to Aviemore for the food but this was very disappointing.
Fantastic fast service, smart and helpful staff and the food was delicious. Would highly recommend and would definitely come back.
Wouldn't recommend.. pizza base was OK.. but the toppings were not good .. the chicken is frozen cubes and for the price of pizzas I'd expect proper chicken. .. not enough staff for busier times.. tables were sat for over an hour empty and could have easy been seated ate and left by time next table was booked.. our pizzas took 10 mins and order was taken as soon as we went in so plenty time to be sat..
Vegan pizza was okey, could be better the tomato souce on pizza it tasted like cheap souce. Pasta was terrible, didnt even finish, food wasn’t fresh, generally the taste was really bad, like you buy in some shop packaged pasta and warm it up and serve :D

Have been coming up to Aviemore for years but for some reason we have never eaten here...What a mistake that was on our part.The menu isn't big,but that doesn't stop the food from being tasty,of which it was.My dad is a great lover of a Calzone but has never had one quite like this before.He likes spice and they were only too happy to add some jalapeños for him.I on the other hand tried the gaelic pizza,but I don't like haggis,so they again were happy to change the toppings.The place itself was rustic and the staff were very friendly and helpful.Service was excellent.We had a great night.
We have been coming here for pizza every time we visited aviemore for the last 15 years at least, has been superb every single time! Pizza and pasta both delicious with plenty to choose from, the house red and white wine are surprisingly good. I'd highly recommend the goats cheese pizza it's fantastic.
Absolutely delicious and very authentic Italian food. Highly recommended Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie options available! Kid-friendliness: Relaxed and child friendly atmosphere, very chilled out and space for children to move around Parking: Plenty parking spaces plus public electric car charging in the neighbouring hotel car park Wheelchair accessibility: Flat, level access with toilets on the flat, too.
Incredible experience at this restaurant! Host and waitresses were very friendly and welcoming. And some of the Best pizza that I've ever had! Thoroughly recommend! And will be back soon
