This has got to be one the best venues for live music. Great stage layout along the back wall, so the standing area is wide, rather deep. Giving a better view anywhere in the crowd. The drinks are not over priced and they serve food. Best of all, whilst the loos are not luxurious, but don't need to be, but there are plenty of them. This venue may be 150 miles away from home but I will travel here rather than visit a more local venue every time. The atmosphere is always amazing and staff are great.
Since attending my first gig here back in 2017, it has become my favourite music venue. It's spacious and old steel mill, hence the name, toilets are always stocked with plenty of loo roll, sound quality is great, staff are friendly, I've never really had to queue for a beer. I just love it. I've seen some amazing up and coming bands here, along with a few old faves. My only downside is the food; when we've attended a day gig or larger named band, they put on hot drinks, sandwiches, and hot food. Burgers, hot dogs and samosas. Unfortunately, the food quality isn't great in my opinion and I would love to see a food van to offer more choice, especially for veggies. But that is the only thing I would change about this venue.
First time at this venue and it was great all level standing but Accessible platform for wheelchairs and ambulant disabled, with easy access to toilets. It is an old factory so don't expect frills, but as a live music venue the ambience and sound was really good. Food & drink very reasonably priced, and good quality. The staff are fantastic, friendly and very helpful, a particular shout out to Saj, great guy. Security was far more thorough than arenas or other gigs but that's a good thing tbh.nParking on nearby streets but very congested, we parked at Church St. car park, £4, it's only a few minutes walk away.nDefinitely rate it
Awesome venue. Fantastic old school rock feel to the place. Saw the wildhearts there with my 15 year old daughter. Was brilliant. Even though the band was quality, I think the venue added something that had it been in a normal venue it wouldn't of been the same. Can't wait to go back there
First visit to see Love/Hate last night and loved it.nnMy son is disabled and uses a wheelchair, and the experience from start to finish was excellent. I was able to pre-book a wheelchair space on a raised platform, and get a free ticket as his+1.nnThe staff on the front door were very friendly and helpful, and guided us to the relevant ramps and facilities. The bar area and toilets were all easily accessible, so he didn't need me to get things for him.nnAs it wasn't absolutely rammed, we actually went down the front, and for the main act, the security guard allowed my son the other side of the barrier so he was right next to the stage, and had space to bop about and do little wheelies and spin around.nnWe had an amazing time and would definitely come back again - thank you KKs!
