Receptionists incorrectly diagnosed an issue and then refused me a medical appointment with a dr based on their misdiagnosis which led to further complications and costs, avoid if possible. Everyone seems to have issues with the Receptionists gatekeeping at this surgery so go to Ashtree House instead.
The receptionists, nurses, and doctors deliver benchmark service.n1st class treatment for my aged father and myself.
I have been with Kirkham medical centre for a couple of years and apart from having to wait a month to see a doctor it’s been okay! There is a receptionist though that is absolutely awful. Condescending, rude, impatient, sharp, in compassionate & unhelpful and if she answers the phone most of the time I hang up! Every other receptionist is absolutely fantastic and kind and wants to help but she sounds like she doesn’t even want to be there never mind help people. Everything is a hassle for her! It’s quite evident from the reviews everyone knows who she is but nothing is ever done. When you are desperately ill and in pain you don’t expect to ring and be told a lie “nothing I can do, ring tomorrow” yet ring back 15minutes later and the lovely receptionist was more than happy to help and it took literally 30 seconds. When you are ill and she is being purposely unhelpful is just cruel. If it wasn’t for the other staff that are kind and compassionate I would move instead I shall continue to hang up when she answers! Do better.
This is simply the best GP practice around. I’ve been registered here for 23 years and always had excellent care, support and advice. The reception staff are understanding, compassionate and friendly. The Doctors are all great and especially Dr Tobin, I actually look forward to seeing him, he’s relaxed and makes me relax and I always have answers or a resolution. Likewise the Nurses also follow the same ethos. It’s a shame all GP surgeries don’t operate this way!!
God awful place! Reception staff are so rude and seem to take the greatest delight in telling you it’s 4 weeks to get an appointment unless I say it’s an emergency.nWhen you eventually do get past the power hungry, unhelpful “gate keeps” on reception the GPs command over the English language is so poor it’s hard/impossible to communicate what is wrong in the first place.nI have been a patient at this practice for 10 years but I’m going to have to look elsewhere!nThank god for Private Medical Insurance!!
