What an absolute gem of a place. We came on a Sunday for brunch and it didn't disappoint. The staff are all really friendly and helpful and the food was scrumptious. The cafe itself is lovely and cosy with a great atmosphere.Food: 5/5
Staying at The Owletts in this beautiful village and now on our 3rd visit to Hearts of Ampleforth for breakfast to set us up for the journey home back to Essex. Previous visits for coffee & cake and ice cream - including one for our Border Collie. Everything about this place is perfect - the food, the welcome and the setting. There is seating indoors, in the garden and out front all areas dog friendly. Sadly we live 4 hours away - if not we would definitely be regulars!

Friendly, local coffee house. Very welcoming
A wonderful family run business. A warm, friendly greeting as soon as you walk in however busy they are, and busy they get!!... you may have to wait a short while for a table, but be patient, it's worth the wait!!. Great choice of food, cakes and drinks, all delicious. This has become our go to place whenever possible, if we lived closer we would no doubt be in most days!
Stopped for a late lunch. Welsh Rarebit with Bacon. Served with a small salad, coleslaw and chutney. Delicious! Couldn't manage a cake even though they serve my favourites - Portugese Tarts. Liked the decor. I remember the Tearoom when it was a fish and chip shop. Friendly staff with a sense of humour. Thanks for a pleasant experience. I will return!
So good. The best sausage rolls the world has ever seen. So friendly. Tasty everything. Give them a visit
Lovely Welcome and the cakes looked really good. Well situated and has pretty garden with tables outside. We were rather disappointed by the sandwich snacks although they were so attractively served. My friend had a delicious avocado mix but couldn't say the roll was not too dry which sadly the others found too. The falafel in my roll was stone cold and tasteless and the hummus, as the other main ingredient, appeared to have been given a quick swipe across the bread like spread, and was replaced by cold grated carrot? It was there as a trace so I felt I could not ask them if they'd forgotten it but it was a big disappointment - but very prettily served. I think we must have arrived when the ingredients were running out at the end of a Bank Holiday. I wish them luck and will call again another time when passing.
Popped in today had a beefburger with chips and salad, very tasty nice staff and a delightful back garden.
