This is a castle turned lighthouse. The tour of the lighthouse included explanation of the different sections of the lighthouse plus climbing up the spiral stairs all the way to the top of the lighthouse. The view from there was spectacular. The museum of Scottish lighthouses is next-door. Fascinating history and facts about Scotland’s lighthouses. The most interesting facts to me was to learn about the lighthouse keepers job and how much responsibility and concentration was required. There is a visitor center with plenty of souvenirs to choose from. Restaurants and coffee shops are nearby in Fraserburgh. I highly recommend this tour.
A fab couple of hours at the Museum of Scottish Lighthouses. Finished with a tour of the Castle Lighthouse guided by the knowledgeable Michael Strachen. A great day out with some fantastic views from the top of the lighthouse
Fab museum very interesting and the guided tour around the lighthouse was brilliant , sorry can't remember the female guides name but she was really good . Had lunch in museum cafe after, excellent food and service . All the staff were lovely and friendly and all seemed genuinely happy to be working there . Great day out plus the weather was excellent just to add to the day . Highly recommended
Interesting museum and a great tour around the lighthouse/castle right to the top. The tour guides made it a great visit. It was a shame that the cafe was closed as that would have been the icing on the cake.
Brilliant visitor experience, amazing views, well laid out. Lovely wee coffee shop with hot food option, very welcome on a cold day
