Hampshire is under GP’d so nurse practitioners have the training to assess patients well then the same guidelines need to be followed. This is not directed at how polite staffing are as majority are polite this is based on lack of knowledge and patient care.nnI did not complain when an ambulance did not take me into the hospital twice and I resulted with emergency ectopic surgery in 2019. I did not complain when I attended cosham park house for an appointment with my new born son in 2021/2022 due to the self check not working I got there 5 minutes prior to my appointment so i waited in line at the reception to sort this which the receptionist was talking I was then late for my appointment and the GP refused to see me my some resulted in hospital admission with RSV! I’m sure there was other occasions with my daughter which will all be on record! I work within healthcare so I try to understand but I have had enough.nnMy daughter was seen Tuesday due to a high temperature I was told by the practitioner the temp is just a number they are not worried about that temperatures are a key indicator to infection you need to be careful with saying this due to SEPSIS you base it on how the patient is doing because my daughter was drinking little and often not eating but that is not a concern just fluids which is correct I was advised to treat with over the counter medicine but to do calpol and nurofen throughout the day to keep temp level as it is possible viral infection. Temp was still spiking hallucinated Wednesday evening I carried on with this advice and there was no improvement. Drinking little with encouragement. Not eating lethargic. Called for advice Friday to be told this could take weeks and to keep going with over counter medicines my daughter should have been called in for another assessment! I try to be understanding and polite but I now will be challenging what I do not feel is correct even though advice is coming from someone supposedly with more knowledge. I Called 111 in evening due to my daughters temp not going and she was delirious with medicines. To be told clinician on call is not alarmed by 38.4 even though my daughter had calpol 1-2 hours prior to this and I had then given her nurofen. 111 Called back at 1-2AM to say call from GP from 111 delayed. I had little sleep all week my son was sick Thursday-Friday. I Missed 4am call. Took My daughter to a walk in on Saturday she had a confirmed chest infection , Ketones in urine! was given antibiotics and within 48 hours she is back to herself drinking and eating. If this had been left on the advice I was given I dread to think what the outcome could of been an I expect another hospital admission. I understand antibiotic policies but given that I had left it 48 hours since the advise and we was on day 4 of high temperature it’s not good enough. Lack of knowledge or not following the same guidelines. I also got advise from a family member within NHS which advised the walk-in due to what I had explained.nnPrevention is key. It’s no wonder these walk in centres become over worked. GPS need to offer a walk-in service and patients assessments need to become a priority rather than over the phone diagnosing or advice.
Absolutely disgusting service, every time I call there’s always a problem of which line I called cannot get any emergency appointments been there for over 5 years I have not seen the doctors.they have so many telephone lines and then when you reach it they turn you away!!!! I have a 8 year old daughter that needed to be seen by a gp for an emergency they turned me away!!!! I’m changing doctors absolute piss take!!?
Absolutely it’s disgusting service and systems.everything is so much formality.all reception staff and systems are rediculas.for any simple things they’re take the more than 28 days.if people need anything immediate and urgent, can’t get any help from them. I have applied for for my medical summary it’s more then a month can’t get.that’s why I am losing my job.
Absolute joke of a surgery been trying for weeks for a appointment twice I’ve managed to get one they cancel them both advise me to do something else eg physio when they don’t no what the issue is let alone seen the issue and just cancel and send a text message! I don’t see the actual point of them being a dr surgery! False information on online journal last week about someone threatening to commit suicide and all then done was advise this person who it was meant to be to go to a and e did the person even get the help is it wasn’t put on her account and on mine is she even still alive but if you want a appointment to get a Covid jab they’d welcome you straight in, absolutely shocking service from them the receptionist have to go ask for advise before booking a appointment for you, then say they don’t have any appointments left call back 10am the next day they are a joke of a place do not join I will definitely be changing surgeries just take a look at everyone’s reviews not one positive thing to say about this place get it shut down!!! Paid for a job they don’t even do
Would love to share a positive experience, but I can't because this place is a joke! For nearly a year you guys refused to see me fought for telephone calls for you all to dismiss my symptoms and if you would of actually taken a look into my medial history and did your job I might not be waiting for appointments in Southampton neurology department! And now the hospital wanted me to do a sleep apnea study need to book a routine appointment but can I no cause apparently you can't book it in for a week or so have to ring up at 10am like 30 other people just to be told sorry we have no appointments today! Bring back the old system where you could book in advance your appointments!
