The kings Arms has a lovely 'homely' atmosphere. The food is freshly cooked to order. The landlady is lovely as are her staff. If you want to anything about the history of this area ask Pamela and her sister! We have relatives who live nearby and visit often. You will receive a lovely, warm welcome when you visit.
Nice pub, friendly and welcoming. Opening hours and food service vary during low season. Food is good standard pub grub with a few extra twists. At least one good cask ale on tap.
Annette and Jude were warm, kind and informative hosts on our few days in Bowness. Lovely pub with great food and chat as we waited for our Hadrian's walk to begin.
The most welcoming pub we've ever been to! We stayed in the village for a week and we were made to feel so welcome by the staff and locals.
Really warm welcome, great beer from local Hesket Newmarket Brewery. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the local area.

Lovely friendly country pub with great food at reasonable prices. Good service too from friendly staff. Glad to see they stocked Irn Bru. Wish there were more pubs like this, but sadly their numbers have been decreasing. Would definitely recommend this one.
Made it to the end of our walk of Hadrian's Wall and were anticipating our arrival for our victory pint and lunch. The staff were lovely and even though renovations/expansion the service was uninterrupted. As it's the first option after you arrive in Bowness-on-Solway you get to catch up with the others you met along the way.
