My partner and I did a full day stained glass course with Vicky and Vic. They could not have been more accommodating or friendly, they’re both really lovely! We were pleasantly surprised by how much freedom we were given even as complete beginners to choose our own designs and do the work ourselves.nLunch was also delicious and Vicky made us feel very welcome in her home! Would definitely recommend anyone to give it a go!
Kingcot gallery shows and sells a range of lovely hand crafted pieces of art in different mediums.nnThey also run glass fusing crafting courses, which is what we booked ourselves in for.nnThe course lasted the whole day and we were looked after very well by Vicky who owns the gallery. Plenty of tea and coffee were provided along with lunch.nnVicky thoroughly explained the different ways we could work with the glass and helped us realise our ideas by supporting us throughout the day, guiding us but letting us create the work.nnWe had time to make a few panels the quantity you achieve will depend on your style and the detail you add.nnSo, we have left out panels with Vicky for fusing in the kiln and will return to pick them up in a few days.nnThe anticipation of how they will turn out is quite exciting . The photos show the pre-fused panels, once fused the edges soften and join together hopefully creating lovely glass pictures that we hang with the light behind to illuminate them.nnIf you want to try something new, we thoroughly recommend a day of glass fusing at Kingcot gallery with Vicky.nnOk, so the new pictures attached show how the glass turned out. I'm not an artist but they were great fun to make and will look lovely in our windows.
What a great day we had. Only the 2 of us there, so Vicky had just us to contend with, both novices at working with glass.nA couple of options were available either lead work or copper, we both choice patterns suitable for lead. Good advice & clear instruction was given througout. We were both a bit concerned about breaking or wasting glass but Vicky was clear that we shouldn't be and if it broke, it broke! Not to worry about any waste.nLunch was spot on, lovely pasta dish & a great cake for after.nAt the end of the day we both ended up with 2 great pieces of leaded glass, thanks to Vickys instruction.nWe will defo return for another day glass work.
Fabulous studio in a relaxed atmosphere to do glass workshops. Also a little shop on site to purchase ready made glass decorations.
Another fab and fun session fusing glass with Vicky. This time we took the big kids aged 30 and they said it was 'just the best' time. We planned in advance of the day so that we didn't waste time deciding what to make - definitely recommend this.nVicky is helpful, positive, encouraging and has loads of options with glass and equipment to help you make a beautiful piece or two out of fused glass. Highly recommended. Thanks Vicky.
