This pub is an amazing little gem! The room I stayed in was cosy and more than adequate for my needs, the bed gave me the best nights sleep so I couldn’t ask for more.nThe food portions are large and the menu has something for all.nI didn’t get through all the menu whilst I was staying but what I had was fabulous.nA very big thank you to all the staff they make a very good team, each one I had the pleasure of meeting was polite and cheerful.
We were staying nearby and visited upon recommendation and we are so glad we did! We ended up going 2 days in a row! Their homemade pie is fantastic and so is their roast dinner. Value for money is amazing and the staff are so welcoming and friendly. Would absolutely come back if we are in the area again. 10/10!!
First time visit, home cooked food and it was absolutely delicious. I had steak and ale pie, chips, mushy peas and gravy and my Husband had steak and ale pie, mushy peas and mash with American cheese and bacon sauce on the mash and Stilton sauce on his pie. It was THE nicest pie I’ve ever eaten at a pub/restaurant and the jug of gravy was so tasty. It was all I could do not to lick my plate!nnThe build your own meal idea is brilliant, ie, choose your main pie then choose your sides chips, mash, etc, and mushy peas, garden peas, etc. I read reviews before we went and saw a couple that said the build your own meal was very complicated! I really really can’t see what was complicated about it.nnWe are on holiday in Haverigg and will definitely be back to try the build your own cheesecake.nnUPDATE:nnWe returned for breakfast today, Friday. THE best breakfast I have ever had! See for yourself on the photo. Exceptionally high quality product from their local butcher and cooked to perfection! Very reasonable prices too.
Simply wow! We’ve visited twice this week, once for breakfast and then for dinner. The service was absolutely superb - we had our dog with us who can be reactive and our wonderful waitress couldn’t do enough for us. Our breakfasts on our first visit were delicious and our evening meals even better. Lots of choices - enough for everyone and all cooked to perfection. Two of our party built their own burgers and two of us had the ribeye steak. The pub is beautiful inside and the food is a bargain. If you’re in the area or fancy a drive then it’s well worth a visit. We hope to be back soon as this place is a hidden gem. Thank you so much for the food and your kindness.
Nice pub, fit us in when we needed some food and were far from home. The menu is vast, if a bit complex. The mains were fine but desserts were better
