We had a very stressful experience recently at Kilts4U. We were given our kilts at 3.50pm on a Monday closed at 4.30 for a wedding on the Wednesday. The shop is closed on Tuesdays. The shirts were covered in bleach stains and clearly hadn’t been checked over beforehand. My partner bought a belt and buckle from the shop and the buckle broke the night before the wedding when trying everything on. We had to go to a different kilt shop and purchase a new buckle the morning of the wedding. Kilts4U wanted the kilts back between 10am and noon the day after the wedding and when they were returned on time we were not offered a refund for the broken buckle. Numerous members of the bridal party also had issues with incorrect sizes on hired items that they had been measured for. Wont be using this place again.
Excellent Service - very efficient, professional and friendly. Great selection of kilts. Both Jay and Geraldine are lovely and I cannot fault Kilts4u or the staff in anyway. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to hire or purchase a kilt for any occasion.
Had a fantastic first visit very helpful and could not help me enough first time ,went up for a best man's fit few weeks later booked in for 2pm 5 hour drive to get his neck and waste measured but he could not try a kilt on I understand covid but could have done all that from home if I knew that was all I had to do please ask the correct questions before traveling or spend the night up there if you have time unlike me up and down one day it was my fault but it was a good job my best man had a fat neck had to hold the tape to get it round but would highly recommend fantastic staff and beautiful kilts hopefully not see you again lol for another fitting only want to get married once
I arranged to hire my husband's kilt etc by phone from Canada. As we were picking up the outfit the day before the wedding there was no room for error. We needn't have worried. Everything fitted perfectly and Geraldine and Jay provided helpful hints on the etiquette of wearing highland dress. As a consquence my husband, who hadn't worn a kilt since childhood, felt confident amongst wedding guests who wore this atire much more frequently. The premises were very attractive with lots of parking available. We have no hesitation in recommending ' Kilts 4 U ' in Kilmarnock
Got my kilts here for my wedding and Jay was fantastic,friendly,helpful and very accommodating. My father in law doesn't keep well and Jay travelled 12 miles to fit him. You get the kilts a week before just in case alterations are needed. I would highly recommend kilts4u.
Appallingly bad and uninformative visit, to the point we giggled all the way back to the car. Would have been annoyed but it was such a pointless visit it was funny. Did not get one definitive answer from the one staff member. Wanted to buy the top half of an outfit - jacket, waistcoat - along with socks and accessories, basically everything but the kilt, for my partner for a family wedding, and our wedding in 4 months. Got the feeling the staff member thought we were timewasters, and seemed ill prepared for customers on a Monday afternoon. Wasn't able to find out the price to buy the top half of the outfit, or the hire price, because apparently she was usually only in on Saturdays which seemed odd because surely Saturday is the busiest day, and surely prices should be accessible to staff. Was told 4 months for a bespoke order may not be long enough which seemed odd. Will be going in to Glasgow for what we need, would have no confidence going back.
There's a good reason these guys have 5 STARS They pull no punches when it comes to the quality of service that's required for your day to be 5 STARS also ! I got my kilt in the Kilmarnock outfitters! Ps Thank you to the manager and staff at Kilmarnock. They were first class There was a shoe problem and I called them first thing in when morning then there was no shoe problem ! So problem solved ! These guys are great at what they do and if you want a 5 STAR day that makes you feel a million bucks with no worries or bull s*** then you need to go to KILTS-FOR-U
