Stopped off here for a business lunch and was greeted by lively friendly staff. Was quite a cold dark day but the warmth inside along with the extremely fresh fish we had made up for the bad weather. There is nothing quite like eating fish which has been caught a few hours earlier.  Just wonderful!

Food was delicious. Service was great. Price was a bit more expensive than I would have expected for a Sunday carvery but that's my only complaint.

Website makes very good first impression. Found the staff to be very unprofessional, making a number of errors on check in, causing a lot of stress. Food in restaurant was poor with a small selection on offer, instant coffee served at breakfast and eggs undercooked. Atmosphere in hotel was not great, with guests shouting in hallways and a fight breaking out between two men in reception area on Saturday night, staff member on reception did not intervene. Not very well located, with little to do in the area. Would be sufficient for a basic one night stay, with room and bathroom being comfortable and clean. Overall wouldn’t recommend for a weekend break.

Went for a lunch time snack and had chicken gougens and chips and my husband had fish gougens and chips, several dips and a pot of tea for 2 for £19.90 they were lovely and very filling. Would recommend it, very comfortable surroundings
