Went in for an MRI on my knee after a 20ft fall. Had been cleared the week before at Worcester. Very quick and good service also been here for GP out of hours when I had appendicitis and a kidney infection at the same time.
I’ve had a couple of appointments here recently and both times all the staff have been brilliant and I’ve been treated with the utmost respect and sensitivity.nAfter my appts me and my friend had lunch at the League of Friends cafe and it was just what was needed: excellent choice, quality and extremely good value.nSpecial shout out to Sandra who was especially friendly but they were all lovely and just the tonic after medical appts.nThanks all.nPlease fight for our NHS we should be proud of such a brilliant and treasured institution.
Overall Kidderminster Hospital is just unpleasant.nnThe first thing that hits you AS SOON as you walk in is the disgusting smell of bacon grease. It is vile. The smell lingers on your clothes even after you leave. What kind of hospital smells like bacon grease the moment you walk through the door? It’s not even just in the entrance, it carries through the corridors. A place of care should not smell like that.nnThe signposting inside is confusing and could be a lot better.nnWhen you call the reception on the phone, you are greeted as if you are an inconvenience. There is just no bedside manner at all. It is abrupt and cold every single time.nnIf you have a blood test appointment, you will likely be sat there for about 15 minutes after your appointment time was due. Patients walk around confused, wondering where they can go to see if somebody is available, as there’s no reception. What’s the point in having appointment slots if you’re not going to be called out on time? If there was a reason for this, due to back log I would understand. But when you see nurses sat in the blood testing room on their mobile phones and having a chat, it makes you wonder why you’re sat outside your appointment waiting to be called in when you’re there on time. Do nurses not have allocated break times?nnThe car parking situation is an absolute disgrace. You cannot get a space even if you are disabled. People end up parking on the curb, on the path and even in the area meant for ambulances only, because there is nowhere else to go. There are queues at the parking machines and the cost to park is disgusting. People literally fight for a space after circling the car park 3 times in hopes someone has left. If you have an appointment you genuinely need to arrive at least half an hour earlier just to search for parking and even then you will probably end up on a side street away from the hospital and have to walk.
None wants to go to hospital but I had nothing but fantastic care throughout my ga biopsy today. immense thanks to all our wonderful NHS staff who were all caring, friendly and super efficient
Had to go to MIU as I’d been bitten by a dog , the whole system there works well , staff are polite and helpful , The nurses are thorough supportive and caring especially Ali who sorted me out . We went in Easter Sunday at 9 am and I’d been triaged , xrayed , given an injection and medication by 11 am. Thank you for help . Just shows our brilliant NHS at its best .
