Go to Kettle's Yard to see The House. This lyrical space is full of stunning 20th century art. There are wonderful spaces and intimate niches where you can sit and reflect. (Amazingly you are encouraged to sit on The House's chairs!) Drift through and take your time to fully explore. You book a timed entry ticket at reception. While you're waiting, have a look at the 2 refurbished galleries and maybe what's in the little church outside. The small cafe does lovely tea but if there are no seats available, there are lots of eating opportunities on the way from town.

One of the best art experiences I've had in the last few years. An interesting exhibition on art for social and political purpose, which although is an important subject can be done badly, but not here! We were in two minds about waiting a few hours for a look round the house section of the gallery. But you honestly must do this no matter how long the wait is. A truly amazing collection of contemporary art. Staff were also very knowledgeable and friendly!!

Well worth a visit. The contemporary gallery is small but the House is the real gem. Previously the home of Jim Ede, curator at the Tate and friend of many early -mid 20th century artists. It contains his collection of works by them and his own quirky collections of ephemera. Although free, entry is ticketed because the entrance hall is small, but once inside you can browse and dream for as long as you like!

Great place. We stayed nearly an hour. Interesting to see modern art in a home setting. Interesting architecture. Helpful, knowledgeable staff and volunteers. My 10 year-old daughter enjoyed it too.

Brilliant and interesting gallery. Free to enter, though there are timed tickets for the main house. We had to wait quite a bit before we could get in, but well worth it. There is a small cafe, which looked nice, but was full when we went.
