Sadly this place is only a shadow of times past. Trees and shrubs poorly arranged and cared for; some items not priced; poorly managed in general. Plenty of other centres to visit though. The site would make a good housing development project.
Medium size garden centre currently being updated with a cafe that has an all day breakfast! Eaten here many times. Not a large menu but they may do specials so check before you visit. I had a gluten free option with no issues. Staff are helpful in the cafe and garden centre. Parking is on an incline but the shop and cafe have level floors. Outside some of the plant sales area is on an incline of a moderate gradient. Please check accessibility with the garden centre before visiting.
Visited today rude staff, only one till point with a till that looks like it's from the Nineties .Two staff to serve a customer and had to use a calculator, the customer in front was embarrassed by the queue building up behind them .The customer offered for me to go in front of them. The staff refused and said I had to wait . Waited that long I left and visited another garden centre. Certainly will not visit again plenty of other garden centres with better customer service
Excellent service from staff. Good range of products. Not very good for wheelchairs but we managed. Will certainly go again.
First time we've been here. Loved it. Not a huge place, but it has a wide range of plants and shrubs. We will be going there again.
Lovely helpful staff great choices, git lots of potting plants hopefully come out great later on
The Garden centre is brilliant the cafe advertised after 2pm special offer on line and when we got there we were told it was not available very disappointed
Long standing local privately owned garden centre with a good range of plants, tools and accessories.
This ⁩⁩cafe has really gone downhill. Food prices have got very high. £2.50 for a small coffee is just silly. Sometimes the cafe is very cold and the heaters are not on. In the back room the doors to rooms where the freezers are often are left open - I have just had a meal looking at a mop and bucket in the freezer room with its door open. I tried to shut the door myself; I know why it's always open the catch does not hold the door closed so it just flies open when somebody's been in there. Staff are certainly not as friendly as the used to be. There always seems to be a new person learning the job there. They don't listen to you when you make an order so they often get it wrong. Last time we went they got four things that we asked for wrong. The food, when you eventually get it it, is very nice but the atmosphere has gone downhill since the garden centre took over the cafe once more. Yes the carpet has been cleaned or replaced but the whole atmosphere is dreary. It used to be a nice place to sit down and enjoy your meal and I wonder now whether it's at all worth going. I used to go regularly and have meals there but really now can't afford it and I don't have to put up with the staff not listening when I order things. This is not a grudge review it is an honest review from a person who wishes that this cafe was like it used to be before the garden centre took over running it. They management of the garden centre need to put a lot of effort into making this cafe like it used to be.
Great selection of toys and books for children. Lovely quality gifts. Pretty Christmas decorations. Very helpful and friendly staff
