The park is quiet and peaceful. The caravans are basic but have everything that you would want. The owners are lovely and the area around is beautiful
We're booked to come back again this year which will be our 3rd stay. We're a family of 6 and this is just perfect for us. The setting is perfect, very peaceful and private. The caravans are a little dated, but they are functional and comfortable. We can't knock the place at all, also Mary and George look after all of their guests so well and the handmade / delivered scones is it jam first or cream? which they give us are beautifully done. We will continue to re-book and hope to for many years to come. Excellent value.
Have stayed here on many an occasion, Mary and George the owners couldn’t be more accommodating. Even put fresh flowers in the caravan for us. It’s very basic but quiet and peaceful. If you’ve got a tourer then make sure you have all your own facilities as no shower/toilet block. Only ten minutes walk to the village where theres an award winning fish&chips shop/restaurant, and pub with great food and a band on every Saturday eve. Only five minutes off the A30, and ten minutes into Bodmin by car or an hourly bus service.
I have to agree with the fact that the caravans are dated but hospitality was amazing, cream teas, fresh flowers and fruit from the owners small holding. A very peaceful stay and at least 50% cheaper than larger sites, with glossy new caravans and no character. I thought it was quaint and charming and looking forward to our next stay.
The setting of this caravan park is lovely. Its a small park with only 6 or 7 caravans so it is very peaceful and quiet. Its only a 5 minute walk from the village of Lanivet which has a Spar, a nice pub and a very decent fish and chip shop. Being a caravan I expected the decor to be pretty dated and I wasn't disappointed but that is not something that detracts from the stay, however the interior was also quite shabby with quite a few damp patches on the ceilings and walls. The caravan also had cobwebs in most corners and above the bed and it didn't look like the floor had been cleaned prior to our visit. I also found a fair few dead moths and flies which was not very pleasant. The caravan had a nice sized living area which was very comfortable. We were in a 3 berth caravan 2 berth or 1 berth were not available but we were only charged for a 2 berth which was very good This meant the double room was very small. The bed was ok but because of the size it was not always a comfortable experience with two people in it. The site is in a great location for getting around Cornwall and is a good base for exploration. As a budget option I would recommend it.
I have stayed here once but my parents have stayed here twice. The location is beautiful and quiet with local amenities but this is not the reason for the 1 star review. To start with the caravan was rather dirty. Animal and human hair everywhere, crawling with earwigs as it was quite damp inside and it was quite clear it hadn't been vacuumed in a long time. There was a vacuum in the cupboard so my mother and I did it ourselves - in fact on both occasions my mum spent a good part of first day and both trips cleaning the entire caravan down. Secondly , and I'm writing on behalf of my parents, the owner was a very rude lady. She seemed pleasant enough on the first visit but on their second she agreed to let a particular caravan to my mum but on the day of arrival she had a phone call saying it wasn't available to go in giving all kinds of excuses that the previous occupiers had a party and then it was she didn't feel well and didn't want to clean it that day. When my mum insisted on the caravan that had been verbally promised the lady got very shirty with my mum and very rude. When they arrived later that night they found the caravan was actually available after all. Despite saying she had cleaned they'd found their bedding crawling with bugs, so bad that they had to take a late night trip to asda to buy bedding. For the rest of their trip the lady did not speak to my parents once, ignoring them completely. What utter awful customer service. On the day they vacated they couldn't even find her to pay her so they left a note and a cheque and posted it through her letterbox. Whilst on the way home my mum realised in her fluster she had sealed the envelope without putting the cheque in, upon reaching home she had a call from the lady shouting at her as to why she hadn't been paid despite my mum explaining and subsequently posting the cheque to her later on. The whole experience made my mum upset. If you run a business that's deals directly with the public you have to be good with people and she is not. If you want to come to Cornwall this area is lovely but stay somewhere else even if it means spending a bit more money.
I have to agree with the aged condition of the vans, but we found everything clean and comfortable. The owner was friendly to the extent of making us scones with jam and cream, and letting us raid her raspberry bushes - service with a smile.
My self and my partner stayed here last year and we loved it he’s stayed before and he was not wrong to recommend it we hope to go again this year
Everyone lovely also nice countryside and at the end of the holiday they give you a cream tea
Lovely site very clean and friendly had lovely welcome
