The idea of the tram network is sound however the reality is very different. The trams are very very slow, unreliable and often full beyond a safe capacity. I’d advise avoiding and use your car instead. Awful, absolutely awful, worst transport network in the UK
What a great half-service, a problem near enough every day, engineering works pretty much every week, smashed up contactless machines, and “brilliant” staff. Rush hour, absolutely packed tram and full platform at Victoria, 2 inspectors to check all of them while there’s 10 on the other platform stood there doing nothing, great job guys, you get paid more than me just by standing there and having awful attitudes just for having the power to check people’s tickets. And they’ll happily stop entry to a tram for 4 people but not get on and check everyone else, make it make sense. Shambles.
This is my first time in Manchester and after living in Sydney for most of my life, I can honestly say how refreshing it is to live in a city with decent transport infrastructure. Trams make it easy to navigate and explore Greater Manchester, particularly for tourists. It's a bit expensive during midweek peak hour and the trams are usually full in peak times, but the £5.80 all weekend pass I think is good value and is valid from Friday 6pm until Sunday close of service.
I am of the opinion that a cctv monitoring system should be in place , because on several occasions have witnessed youths sometimes as many as 3 at a time crossing the track ,it is only a matter of time before fatalities occur.
The best form of transport in Manchester. Reliable and cost effective travel.
It was in interesting ride however I have seen people without face mask and blocking the doors the tram staff did what they had to do
You don't have to live in Manchester very long to find out how poor this service is. I used to use the metrolink on a daily basis for my commute to work but I actually invested in a car to try avoid it. I really hope they sort out their issues when all the building work is finished, but as far as public transport goes must be some of the worst organised in the country
Top guy at the gate he was friendly and helpful and and brightened up my morning. Came for an interview the are friendly and seems like everyone genuinely enjoys themselves and take the work seriously
Some trams need a dam good clean also would be helpful to have some kinda control on the Chavn's using lines
The heart of the tram network along with the old trafford depot great people and just like the busses a great from of public transport! Keep up the good work!
