Kenilworth Castle is an absolute gem! The ruins are impressive, and you really get a sense of its historical significance. Climbing to the top of the tower for the panoramic views is a must-do—it’s breathtaking! The Elizabethan Garden is beautifully maintained, with vibrant flowers. The whole place is well-kept, and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Perfect for families, history buffs or anyone looking to enjoy a scenic and relaxing day out. Highly recommended! Car park isn't very well sign posted but free for English Heritage members! Good little shop too where you get your ticket or entry scan pass. No waiting time, just nice stroll to stretch your legs after driving and a peaceful place to look at.
Beautiful & peaceful, I was very surprised by this gem on my doorstep. This was my first visit & it was stunning. This is one of the best castles I've been to for access too. The car park is fairly close & the pathways & majority of the stairs aren't overly steep. Lots of walking though as it's far bigger than I expected. Definitely recommended for a day out
Beautiful castle, run by English Heritage. The castle's story is a fascinating one of love and possibly murder! It was owned by Robert Dudley who transformed it to be a spectacular palace in an effort to impress Elizabeth I. Dudley's own wife fell mysteriously to her death down some stairs. Though the castle was left to ruin, and in some cases deliberately torn down, there is still a lot to see and climb. The scenery from the very top is stunning. The tea room is a large converted barn, serving an array of sandwiches, jacket potatoes, cakes and of course, cream tea. The staff are very welcoming and knowledgeable, willing to answer questions etc. A great place for kids to run around and play hide n' seek. The cost for an adult is £19 each. My advice, buy English Heritage family membership and get your money back in no time, especially with free parking and 10% off in tearoom and gift shop.
We walked round the outside of this stunning place and surrounding fields. It truly is a stunning piece of History. Slight encounter with some bulls but other than that we had a good walk for a few hours. Our Dog Daisy loved it!!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo wait
Have visited this castle before, with it being a site that deserves repeat visits. Our visit coincided with a Fathers Day weekend event and worth looking at their events calendar as frequently different themed ones ongoing. Spectacular ruins to explore with plenty of information panels dotted around explaining about that part of the castle. There is a cafe and museum area with more history about the development of the castle. A place you could spend a day at and very good for children. Great walks around the outside of the castle too. There is an entry fee but English Heritage/Cadw/Heritage Scotland members get free entry.
Fascinating & evocative place. You can just imagine queen Elizabeth I in her apartments & enjoying the entertainments. Well worth a visit.only reason not 5 stars, toilets v limited 2 cubicles only down steep steps. So need to allow plenty of time for queuing.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo wait

Lovely afternoon wandering around the castle ruins and gardens. There's plenty to see across the site with lots of information signs and access to the upper levels of some of the ruins via stairs. There's a large pay and display car park onsite, or a smaller free one nearby.
Beautiful place to visit. We'll preserved. Nice walks around the castle. Good day out you can have there with a lovely tea room.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
