I love this bookshop! Firstly it’s totally dog friendly which is lovely. Secondly they have very well read staff who are on hand to give recommendations based on books you’ve enjoyed, thirdly they have a seating area outside where you can read books, and finally they have lots of community events. They also have loads of great gifts.
One of the best gift shops I’ve ever visited. Some very unique gifts, well laid-out shop, great book section in the bank and an outdoor courtyard for reading/relaxingI presume! Wonderful, a must see.
This was a lovely book and gift shop. They have a lot of signed copies of books and a fairly good range. What sets this shop apart though is the lovely staff who work there. They proactively try to help you and are incredibly friendly and engaging. We don't live locally but if we did we would definitely be back.

A small but wonderfully stocked bookshop. A fantastic, interesting selection of books, a lovely place in which to browse, and very friendly staff. We stumbled upon this bookshop while on holiday earlier this year, and made a point of going back when we were in the area again. A real treat for book lovers.
There are many “happy places” in Malton and this is my happiest. A wonderful array of books and gifts; knowledgable, polite and welcoming staff; fantastic events for all ages; and with the beautify courtyard, a perfect spot to take a moment to enjoy the surroundings and appreciate how lucky one is to be there. Thank you, Kemps!
For me this bookshop has quickly established itself as a firm favourite. Although I live in London I always pop in here as a treat when visiting family in Malton. Very friendly staff and happy to order a book if it’s not in stock. There is a small section of books on the local area & Yorkshire in general but I’d love to see that expanded hint hint.
The most beautiful book shop I have ever entered. I would travel 300 miles round to come back just for this.
Greatvshop full of useful and quirky gifts. Lots of locally made products and best of all, a proper independent bookshop. If they don't adjust have the book you want and there's a wide selection they'll order it for you.
Great store!! Perfect for quirky gifts and there's also a great selection of books!! The staff was really friendly and helpful. Will definitely be visiting again when in Malton!
